The job will require the versatility to work effectively and creatively across different producing disciplines.
Applicant must be able to handle the urgency and pressure of producing live events successfully (with a balance of participation with and management of students, internal production personnel and outside vendors.
Strong project-management experience is required.
This person is also responsible for the sourcing of feature material, development (scriptwriting/editing), production management, budget oversight, direction and casting of features.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with different departments both inside and outside of BYU Broadcasting and the university are necessary.
Essential Functions Produce assigned content for BYUtv's digital and broadcast platforms; create highly compelling content, with a strong understanding of the audience we are trying to serve; work in close coordination with the BYUtv Sports production team, assigned departments and third-party vendors to write, produce, oversee content structure & editing and cast features.
Identify topical news, information content and personal profile items specifically appealing and targeted to BYUtv's sports audience members that are the key consumers of sports programming across all BYUtv platforms (digital, broadcast and social media) in accordance with BYU Sports' media strategy.
Work directly with production support personnel to schedule all resources and personnel required to set up the necessary studio resources, camera and crew to tape each episode of this specialty program.
Regularly review completed content with BYU Sports production teams (and other departments, as directed) to objectively identify both positive aspects of the content that can and should be amplified and developed further and areas requiring improvement or adjustment.
Continually look for and identify methods for keeping the content and its execution fresh, engaging and entertaining to the target audience.
Serve as casting manager for assigned features.
Coordinate with BYU Athletics concerning scheduled guests.
Responsible for the budget for assigned programming.
Produce live sporting events as assigned by the supervising sports producer.
Creatively and logistically produce world-class content ready for live broadcast.
Show Execution:
Plan and manage production flow of live events for broadcast, digital-only and third-party platforms.
Budget Oversight:
Control budgets for assigned productions.
Deliver product on time and at (or under) budget.
Supervision:
Supervise project teams (including sports, production, post-production, external and student personnel).
May supervise other producers.
Direct and/or indirect supervision of associate producers.
Casting:
Make casting recommendations and coordinate guests on shows.
Develop and build relationships with key personnel in the BYU Athletics department.
Education/Experience Minimum required:
Sports Producer II Bachelor's degree in TV/Media production, documentary or related field
2 years segment producer or producer experience and/or unscripted production OR 5 years' experience segment producer or producer and/or unscripted production OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
Sports Producer III Bachelor's degree in TV/media production or related field
5 years' experience producing A- and B-level productions OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
Preferred:
Sports Producer II Bachelor's degree in TV/media production
5 years segment producer or producer experience.
Sports Producer III Bachelor's degree in TV/media production
7 years producing A- and B-level productions.
Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:
Able to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once.
Ability to manage, clearly condense and communicate creative analysis and research.
Must have good communication and collaborative skills.
Must have the creative taste and judgement to operate within BYUtv's editorial guidelines.

As the Sound Mixer, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality audio during the filming of the show. "Relative Race" is a reality TV show that follows four teams as they compete in a race to find their relatives across the United States. The show incorporates emotional and... suspenseful moments, and your expertise in sound mixing will be crucial in delivering a captivating audio experience to our audience. We shoot all across the United States for the show, but are preferably looking for someone local to Utah.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the production team to understand the audio requirements and vision for each scene
- Set up, operate, and monitor audio equipment, including wireless and boom microphones

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sound Mixer; preferably on reality television productions that are fast paced
- Proficient in operating sound recording equipment, including wireless microphones and boom microphones
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the production team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Must have your own audio gear that can be utilized for the production, we perfer to use Zaxcom as that is what our other audio teams are equipped with, and we need a system that can record certain scenes straight to the recorder without monitoring for certain portions of the show (as a backup).
- Usually we are capturing audio from up to 4 individuals with wireless audio and running a boom mic. We also need to set up an IFB so producers can hear .

October 1st - October 14th, 2023
We shoot 2 seasons a year and are hoping to find a candidate that performs well and can stay with us for future seasons as well
