Candid has strategically moved away from raising heavily restricted funds, and instead is focusing on strategic dollars that support the work we plan to do and minimize administrative burden, allowing us to be mission focused.

The Senior Director of Development will work with the VP of Influence on implementing an aggressive strategy to raise an annual target of approximately $8M, adjust strategy as needed, and work with Candid’s finance department towards goal setting.

They will work collaboratively across Candid to help ensure that we maintain financial stability while meeting our mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fund Development Oversight & Operations
• Guide Candid’s overall contributed income strategy in collaboration with the VP of Influence and CEO; ensuring we meet overall fundraising targets related to general and regional operating support, the GuideStar Philanthropic Partnerships program, lightly restricted grants, special campaigns such as , and our Equitable Access work
• Develop a long-range strategic vision and plan for diversifying our donor pipeline with new types and forms of support, with a special interest in tech funders
• Set and hold accountability for annual contributed income target of approximately $8M
• Directly maintain and strengthen relationships with Candid’s largest funders, while overseeing a team of development professionals who do the same through a portfolio approach
• Employ and experiment with effective strategies to reinstate lapsed donors and to engage prospective donors
• Work independently and with Candid’s CEO and Board of Trustees to identify donors, prospects, and partners to connect with
• Execute well-crafted proposals and ongoing communications with donors (beyond the grants cycle) that convey the uniqueness of our resources, tools, and value proposition to philanthropy’s stakeholders
• Work in partnership with staff implementing programs and special projects to develop progress reports and communicate impact of contributions to donors
• Oversee the effectiveness and use of internal donor management tools (Salesforce) to ensure professionalized and well-informed engagement with current and new donors

Special campaigns and sector engagement
• Work closely with the Partnerships team to increase funder participation in special campaigns such as Demographics via Candid with particular attention on mobilizing Candid funders to make commitments towards greater transparency through data contribution and partnership
• Hold responsibility for stewarding existing donor-relations for special campaigns (Demographics via Candid and beyond) and creative identify new funding opportunities for such initiatives
• Serve as a thought leader and ambassador of Candid by participating in key forms, conferences, and other external / internal programs

Team management and divisional leadership
• As a member of the Influence Division leadership team, work with the VP of Influence to set annual goals and OKRs and contribute to division-wide and org-wide strategic initiatives
• Lead development team of six to align with overall organizational objectives
• Grow the team through training and professional development
• Encourage curiosity, innovation, and experimentation in every aspect of our work

REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum seven to ten years of related experience with demonstrated success.

Position summary

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the successful implementation of customer lifecycle marketing campaigns and content contribution with the assistance of the Senior Director of Product Marketing. This role will assist in implementing successful product launches, content strategies, email marketing campaigns, acquisition and retention campaigns that drive registration and earned revenue to support both the social sector and mission of Candid. POSITION SUMMARY

This newly created position is a key member of the finance division and reports to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The Finance Manager will provide dedicated FP&A support to the organization. This position will be responsible for managing the financial budgeting and forecasting process and financial reporting and analysis for the organization; along with full responsibility of managing and maintaining the financial planning system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
• Lead organization wide annual budget and monthly/quarterly financial forecast process.
• Maintain and create FP&A annual calendar along with setting up and leading monthly/quarterly meetings with department heads.
• Under the direction of head of FP&A, formulate annual budget assumptions, recommend and implement budget/forecast process improvements.
• Track Candid’s financial performance against budget and forecast; prepare management reporting for finance leadership and senior management review.
• Provide support to department heads ahead of budget and forecast meetings by analyzing actuals and variances vs forecast and budget to provide insight into operating business changes.
• Keep track of risks and opportunities, variance from forecast/budget and headcount changes.
• Create and maintain periodic (monthly and quarterly) detail reports for revenue, expense, headcount and related analyses.
• Create and maintain required complex financial models.
• Coordinate with finance and departments across the organization to identify, develop, and maintain new KPIs and reporting analyses.

Systems Management & Maintenance
• Responsible for maintaining Candid’s budgeting, forecasting and reporting system (Adaptive Planning). This includes, but is not limited to:
• Loading and reconciling monthly actuals
• Preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts scenarios
• Preparing budget scenarios for each version of the annual planning process
• Ensuring the system is up to date with correct mapping of GL accounts, project codes, vendors and people
• Develop, maintain and update financial planning system along with SOP documents
• Work with and manage systems consultants for systems enhancements as needed
• Train new users on system application

Other
• Work with accounting staff and department managers to resolve variances to forecast and budget, reconciling data discrepancies.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports as well as build appropriate financial models.
• Develop good working relationship with department managers and participate in operating discussions.
• Under the direction of head of FP&A, implement process improvements, documenting those procedures.
• Special projects as directed by head of FP&A and VP of Finance.

REQUIREMENTS

Hard Skills
• Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably with a major in Finance or Accounting.
• 7+ years of experience in a financial planning and analysis function supporting multiple departments.
• Strong understanding of income statement, P&L, balance sheet and accounting/finance principles.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
• In-depth experience in building business decision models.
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) including advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with financial and BI systems: ERP (Netsuite or similar), Reporting (Adaptive, PBCS or similar), BI (Tableau or similar).
