Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte...

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to hubs in Austin and San Francisco, which are now home to our US operations. So whether you're in Texas or California, you have choice in where and how you work in each of those states. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

We’re looking for a graphic designer and design educator who is passionate and skilled at facilitating design training sessions. Sitting in Canva’s Launch Crew, the successful candidate will deliver creative-led workshops to our Strategic and Enterprise customers as part of their onboarding journey.

As a design trainer you will be someone who can:
• Be comfortable working autonomously and in a global team. The design trainer will be accountable for training across the US. While Launch Crew strives to build an inclusive and collaborative culture, the Design Trainer will be representing Launch Crew in the US, and will therefore work closely with the Sales & Success team as timezones only allow limited screen interaction with the rest of the crew. This means the successful candidate will need to be clear around work expectations and utilizing the global team for requests outside of their remit.
• Present with confidence. The large portion of this role involves presenting workshops to Canva for Teams clients and to the internal Sales & Success team, so this person will need to be very confident in their presentation skills to audiences large and small.
• Communicate complex ideas simply. The Design facilitator’s role is to empower our clients to use Canva as their go-to platform, taking design related topics and making them applicable, engaging and accessible to everyone. This person needs to be able to take a complex thing and communicate it simply with visuals. All the while, making sure that it helps our users learn.
• Organize effectively. As this person will juggle multiple workshop streams across a number of clients, they need to be adept at managing their own time and priorities, to get stuff done well and on time.
• Be the go-to person for Design-related questions. This person is a natural problem-solver, using their knowledge of creative software applications and design principles to solve design-led questions around users uploading and working within Canva from design softwares. This person should be comfortable with a level of ambiguity.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Communication skills are key. This person will need to be able to communicate clearly and work with internal and external parties to plan and deliver workshops.
• Future thinker on how to maximise training outputs. As this is a new role, this person will come up with new ideas on how to produce content that can be repurposed for multiple brands, building out FAQs and support for the S&S team and their customers.

You're probably at match if:
• You have experience in developing and delivering workshops for business audiences - both virtually and in person
• Experience onboarding new business users to a tech platform
• You're passionate in speaking ‘Design language’ to client’s design departments on how to use Canva to its full potential
• A strong understanding of B2B and enterprise business needs, particularly in visual communication and document design
• Professional presentation skills to facilitate learning to our B2B audiences. You’ll have a confident but natural style presenting to a range of audiences
• Process driven. Able to manage multiple work streams with differing deadlines—keep people on track and informed, and ensure the goals are clear and met.
• Experience working with different stakeholders, keeping calm under pressure, working well with others and communicating clearly - in a team or training environment.
• Ability to navigate a variety of tech platforms including webinar delivery platforms to effectively deliver on the role
• An understanding and ability to work with layout, colour, typography, and imagery
• Work with Canva Advisors to understand new/exisiting customers to understand clients needs and tailor design training to suit.
• A love for design and creativity with a great eye for layout and the ability to work within brand guidelines
• Diligence to hit deadlines, and offer suggestions to streamline and improve team processes.
• Learn all sides of Enterprise Studio and jump into creating presentations and templates when in between training sessions and support.

Technical Expertise:
• Must have: Proficiency in visual design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Google Slides, Powerpoint
• Must have: Proficiency in the building and executing of brand kits, including core elements around logo usage, colour, typography, and brand assets
• Encouraged: High competency in Canva

Launch Crew is the design arm of the Sales & Success team, creating on-brand templates for our many global partners that use Canva for their organisation.

Designing to support the Sales & Success team to win the hearts and minds of larger organisations is this team’s specialty and forms an exciting bridge between our many clients and their success on Canva.

We visualise how a customer’s brand works in Canva, support new and expansion customers with template builds and empower the customer with designer training to make sure they can do the best designs of their life - it’s the Canva way!

Background on our structure (meet our Supergroups!)

With over 80+ teams across Canva, many of which are globally distributed teams in Sydney, Manila, Beijing, and the USA, we’ve organized our Teams and Groups of teams into what Canva terms "Supergroups" to help us achieve our goals. Each Supergroup across Canva effectively operates as a highly-enabled, self-contained startup that owns parts of our overall strategy, which ultimately map back to our foundational mission pillars. While nimble and empowered, these groups plug into the broader Canva organization through close collaboration with other supergroups to supercharge every detail of our customer experience.

About the User Voice Supergroup

Help and support, especially at scale, is a complex and exciting problem space. With a mission of “Every user empowered, every voice heard”, Canva’s User Voice super group is the critical interface to our most valuable partners; our users. We want to ensure that they have a flawless experience while using Canva products as we scale our way to support 1 billion users. Our teams are responsible for unlocking how we can deliver exceptional customer experience through streamlined and scalable systems, an optimized contact flow, expert support specialists, customer insights, plus tools to enable self-help such as our Help Center, Assistant and chat experience.

User Voice is at a critical point in its development due to 2 large changes in the Product area. First, Canva's scale and growth mean that decisions have significant impact on many users and team members, whose needs are changing fast. Second, technology developments in this space are rapidly changing expectations and likely future approaches. We need a leader to guide the SuperGroup through this complicated period.

About Product @ Canva

At the heart of Canva's mission to provide accessible design tools to everyone in the world lies the Product Management organization. The dedicated team of Product Managers is instrumental in bringing this vision to life. They work closely with Canva's founders to set the strategic direction for product initiatives, define the scope and success metrics, and create exceptional products and features that empower users to design and communicate visually.

In order to achieve this ambitious goal, our Product Leaders and Product Managers collaborate with Canva’s founders to set the strategic direction, scope, and success metrics for product initiatives. We work across teams of designers, software engineers, marketers and analysts to ensure we're delivering an exceptional experience to all our users. We are responsible for implementing and collaborating on product strategy, road mapping, and prioritisation as our product grows.

It’s our responsibility to see products through their entire lifecycle—from concept through to validation, build, post-launch analytics and iterations.

A bit about you...

You can dream up a vision, set a product strategy and bring teams together to create and deliver a roadmap that requires multiple teams and groups to support. You thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment, working with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and everyone else in between. You have experience scaling a team during hyper-growth, and coaching a team of multiple product managers and your communication skills empower you to inspire your teams to dream and achieve crazy big goals.

You love to take green-field opportunities and build solutions, teams & processes to solve them. Living and breathing all things growth, you make data-informed, strategic decisions and deliver on them to lead your team to great results.

What you'll do
• Build a short, medium and long-term Product strategy and roadmap for UserVoice. Build this from a clear understanding of what users from all parts of Canva require.
• Be a subject matter expert by keeping up to the minute on relevant trends and developments in relevant Product areas as the world and expectations are changing rapidly
• Work closely with leaders and teams across Canva to understand how our product visions and launches interact and to ensure alignment and achieve the greatest impact possible
• Deliver on these visions and launches through your PM team and the other specialties in the SuperGroup.
• Decision Making - Drive key decisions needed to be made toward our Help Experiences for 1 Billion Users strategy. Communicate and drive these decisions to others across Canva from founders to all relevant teams
• Lead cross-group product initiatives to solve big business problems that require many different product teams across Canva to come together and execute on.
• Operational Excellence - Partner with Program Management to ensure we are building a world-class, high-performing team of cross-functional experts from Product, Engineering and Design
• Coaching - Coach a team of Product Managers to do the best work of their lives. Help them achieve their business and personal development goals, strengthening the product management discipline at Canva as a whole
• Work closely with vendor partners to drive exceptional outcomes for users and Canva

What we're looking for
• You have 8+ years of experience in a product management role; in a product-led B2B SaaS company or Customer Experience focused tech startup or related
• You have significant experience coaching Product Managers. You know how to build an inclusive culture across diverse people to create a team that delivers. You inspire people to grow and deliver faster than they thought possible themselves.
• Capable of bringing together the leading product strategy, with operations, and commercial acumen to build long-term strategies
• You thrive when solving ambiguous business problems, and building solutions, processes and teams around them. You are as comfortable talking long-term strategies with senior leaders and founders as you are getting into the details of this week's sprints with engineering teams.
• You feel at home when using data to make decisions—whether that’s analytics, user research, survey feedback, or in-person user testing.
• You have a strong background and passion for user experience, ensuring quality solutions down to the details
• You pride yourself on being an owner and getting projects from ideas to live as quickly as possible. You thrive on creating order from chais
• You are a clear communicator and excellent presenter, ideally with a record of making presentations in large forums
• You thrive on being in the middle of a cross-functional team, wearing lots of hats and doing whatever it takes to help your team and the business succeed.
• You have demonstrated experience in leading and navigating complex vendor/partner relationships

What you'll learn and how you'll develop at Canva ✨
• The opportunity for growth is huge – creating solutions that millions of people around the world use every month.
• Canva seeks to be a leader in the complicated, changing world of Uservoice and you'll be the one steering our Product team and strategy through this.
• AI is changing this space rapidly and we need to work out what direction to take, and change direction as product capabilities and user expectations change.
• UserVoice interfaces with a great many parts of Canva so you'll develop a broad and deep network across leaders in Canva as you close the loop on user issues.
• Bringing commercial acumen to product decisions, for example whether to build or buy capabilities.
• You’ll be able to work in a fast-moving environment and see how your ideas work at scale.
• We want this to be a mutually rewarding relationship, so we’ll support your growth and development throughout your time at Canva.

This role will be based in Sydney, Australia - a vibrant city known for its superb beaches, iconic Opera House, & yacht-studded harbor. We are considering all applicants globally who are open to relocation.

With a team that is as globally diverse as our users, we believe in making the relocation experience as supportive as possible so that you can do the best work of your life while also building your community in one of the world's most liveable cities.

What's in it for you?
