Position Intro:
Our paid summer internship program at Capcom USA offers practical, hands-on Communications experience to lay the groundwork for a future career in the video game industry.
Working closely with both the PR Manager and Social Media & Community Manager, the intern will learn the basics of Communications within both Public Relations and Social Media/Community disciplines, and will shadow Capcom’s team of communications professionals as they interact with media partners, content creators, first parties, internal business units, and other relevant stakeholders.
The internship will involve assisting Capcom USA PR and Social Media & Community teams through administrative support of video game promotional campaigns, while also working with cross-functional groups such as Senior Management, Brand Marketing, Creative Services & Events, and other relevant stakeholders.
In this highly impactful assignment, the intern will work on a mix of actual deliverables while building professional skills for a possible career in the video game industry.
This is a short-term, entry level, temporary position expected to last between 8-10 weeks and will be considered and compensated accordingly.
Responsibilities:
• Support the PR Manager and Social Media & Community with daily Communications team operations, campaigns, and launches.
• Conduct video game industry research and prepare reports to highlight anything that is unique and interesting that would benefit Capcom’s PR and Social Media campaign strategy.
• Conduct a competitive research study on other titles/genres within the industry.
• Support PR and Social Media & Community teams’ respective Capcom Creators program duties.
• Participate in weekly meetings with industry partners and Capcom internal teams. May be requested to take meeting minutes and provide summaries with action items.
• Provide support to Communications Team with media alerts, social posts, livestreaming, event planning & coordination
• Provide event support for potential Capcom events this summer.
• Other tasks/projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/PR/Journalism, Marketing, English, Gaming, Video/TV Production or other related field.
• Proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office Tools (Email, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Strong desire to learn how the PR and Social Media & Community segments of the video game industry operates, including the intricacies of working at a Japanese multi-national corporation (MNC).
• Has a keen interest in the interactive entertainment industry

Position Summary:
The Community Specialist for eSports will act as a visible advocate that interacts with the community in both online and face-to-face communications. The manager will leverage content and manage assigned social media channels to engage with existing fans and expand the community. Summary:
Capcom is looking for a digital-savvy Social Media Manager to maximize the potential for our fighting games. Act as a visible advocate that interacts with the community in both online and face-to-face communications. Produce creative content and manage social media channels to engage with existing fans and expand the community. Social media and community management are rapidly evolving, and we're looking for the right person to help brainstorm, adapt and execute effective plans to help us grow.
This is a critical function that not only serves to evangelize the company's activities out to an external audience, but also ensures sentiment from the community is voiced back to internal groups to help shape products and initiatives. This is an integral part of the larger marketing team, and the individual will be working closely with other social media managers, PR, brand managers, development teams and other internal teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
Strategize, develop and execute effective social media and communication campaigns for Capcom fighting games that cover announcement and post-launch phases for titles as well as ongoing brand visibility.
Coordinate with pan-western social, marketing and PR teams to ensure alignment with overall brand goals.
Plan community/social roadmaps including schedules and calendars in organized, timely manner. Ensure visibility and status of all activities to internal stakeholders.
Produce creative, engaging and timely content including text (blog posts, social copy, etc), art assets (screens, banner images, etc), video (produced interviews, video features, livestreams), and more.
Manage content and conversations on social media channels for fighting brands and titles, including but not limited to Capcom forums, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, etc.
Curate and spotlight positive media, partner content and community-created content on applicable channels.
Additional editing and production support for art and video assets as needed to support broader marketing campaign initiatives.
Coordinate with pan-western marketing and PR to ensure alignment with overall brand goals.
Forum monitoring and moderation across various relevant online forums for fighting brands.
Keep abreast of and report on feedback from users online (comments, forums, social media, etc.) Collaborate with internal departments to ensure both positive and critical community feedback is assess appropriately and made visible if relevant.
Establish credibility and represent Capcom in engaging with fans, pro players, influencers and other users in-person at events and online across multiple social media platforms.
Monitor competitor and broader industry happenings to ensure activities are timely, relevant and adaptable as needed. Recommend and adopt best practices on an ongoing basis.
Track and evaluate social media analytics including reach, engagement and sentiment. Provide regular reports and recommendations based on various performance measurements on an ongoing basis.
Liaise with sales, licensing and other teams to provide support for relevant promotions, partner products, etc.
