Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Roman Catholic Priest

Roman Catholic Priest (RCP) must be in good standing with his home diocese and the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).

High Level Objective (HLO)

The Roman Catholic Priest must have a minimum of 5 years of experience rendering the required services. Catholic Priest must be fully qualified to perform the required services without any supervision or direction by Government personnel.

Timely Arrival for Services

The RCP shall be on location prior to scheduled services to ensure proper preparation for successful performance, at least 15 minutes prior to all services/Masses being performed.

Conduct Mass on Sundays, and Catholic Holy Days of Obligation as scheduled by the senior Catholic chaplain, not to exceed two Masses on any one day.

Mass shall be celebrated in accordance with the Roman Missal and include a homily. Sunday and Holy Day Masses will normally last one hour. The Contractor shall arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled service to ensure proper preparation and successful performance of the Mass.

The Contractor shall conduct the 1200 daily Mass on days scheduled by the senior Catholic chaplain at the Main Post Chapel, or at the location and time specified by the senior Catholic Chaplain. Mass shall be celebrated in accordance with the Roman Missal. Regular weekday Masses, including a homily, will normally last 60 minutes.

Provide regularly scheduled individual Confession opportunities as scheduled by the senior Catholic chaplain and be available for individual confessions for a minimum of ten (10) minutes but will not exceed one-half hour.

Administrative Duties

The Roman Catholic Priest shall submit Quarterly Reports (January, April, July, October) as required by the Archdiocese for the Military Services.

Provide a copy of Quarterly Reports, to include confirmation of all Sacraments recorded by the Archdiocese for the Military Services that quarter, to the senior Catholic chaplain.

Meet once a month with the senior Catholic chaplain or designated representative to coordinate program support and scheduling.

Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

English shall be the only language used for written correspondence, discussions, and other business transactions.

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of three years of pastoral experience after ordination.

Documented professional experience and major accomplishments.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Complete a federally mandated criminal history background check which shall include a National Agency check with Inquires (NACI) and if the individual has a prior DoD affiliation within the last two an Installation Records check (IRC).

The RCP will comply with the requirement to fulfill Child protection policies of Catholic Church.

Note: The IRC includes a law enforcement check, drug and alcohol record check, and a check of the family advocacy program (FAP) for a minimum of 2 years before the date of application.

Working office hours as agreed upon with the pastor.

Other responsibilities as agreed upon with the pastor.

Working with and providing direction for 2 contemporary ensembles.

Developing a youth music program in conjunction with the school.
