BBTV is a creator economy company advancing the industry by helping creators, media companies and brands find success through digital content. We provide end-to-end solutions to help creators and media companies grow their audiences and revenue, while helping brands connect to hard-to-reach digital fans. Our proprietary technologies leverage generative AI, machine learning, digital signal processing and big data to power our platform and ecosystem, and we are the largest multi-vertical video publisher in the world, reaching tens of billions of monthly views and over 600 million monthly uniques.
BBTV is seeking a creative digital content expert to drive the growth of YouTube channels dedicated to entertainment properties pertaining to film, television, documentaries, music, or sports content. In this role, you will embody the creator of a major brand by effectively packaging video clips and maximizing shareability via optimizing thumbnails, titles and descriptions. You are not... required to shoot content, but rather curate existing content to tell a story and build audiences on YouTube and other social media channels.
If you love watching documentaries, reality TV, film and/or TV series, then this is an opportunity for you. Our Content Management team works with some of the largest media companies and sports leagues in the world including household names like Sony Pictures, Paramount Global, the NBA, WMG, and other notable entertainment enterprises.
Reporting to the Director of Channel Management while being supported by their Channel Management Lead, you will be strategizing about our channels, watching and clipping segments to be optimized into long and short form clips and compilations, and delivering high-quality engaging video content on a daily and weekly basis to our audiences. This role will include conceptualizing titles/descriptions, thumbnails, copywriting, and leveraging AI whenever possible. You are knowledgeable of trending topics and should excel at generating ideas, scripting content, compiling footage, and choosing enticing imagery to create engaging videos.
This is a Hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC with two days in-office.
Responsibilities
• Re-imagine and repurpose existing content clips from popular entertainment franchises (films, documentaries, TV series, etc.)
• Project manage and participate in end-to-end channel operations including research, programming, optimization (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and metadata), art direction for packaging clips, etc.
• Program content calendars based on channel strategies and category trends/research
• Contribute to all creative stages — including conceptualization, production, and editing
• Research and identify content, trends, and events that are relevant to the channel audiences and program content accordingly to maximize viewership
• Ensure the successful delivery of video projects in collaboration with other producers and editors on assigned channels
• Keep projects and working media organized, as well as maintain accurate and detailed records of daily production
• Monitor comments, messages, and community interactions on channels and engage with viewers in a manner that aligns with the brand voice
• Support in gathering analytical data on video performance to track key metrics and form insights
• Ensuring exceptional attention to detail
• Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT and other incoming technologies to find creative efficiencies
• Additional duties as assigned by the team when required
Qualifications
• This is an entry-level position. The ideal candidate must have evidence of either a self-produced portfolio or similar-level work/internship/co-op experience
• Working knowledge of video editing tools (AdobePro) to select and package content
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal presentation, writing, and delivery
• Sharp attention to detail and time management with a proven ability to deliver multiple production projects from start to finish
• A passion, deep understanding, and interest in social media marketing; niche interests in documentaries, reality television/unscripted dramas, music, sports, or film is considered an asset
• Strong knowledge and passion for pop culture and trends on YouTube, TikTok and in the general social media space
• A solutions-oriented attitude coupled with effective creative problem solving skills and a proven track record of proactively improving processes
• Passion for AI and incoming technologies is a bonus
• Ability to share samples of work relevant to this position, indicating your specific role in the production process
Why BBTV:
At BBTV, our team is everything. We offer competitive compensation packages, flexible hours and operate on a horizontal management structure that rewards creativity and values transparency.
From our commitment to giving back (support for everyone to volunteer with a charitable or community initiative), our culture committee (social events, team-building, diversity and inclusion), and our support for personal and career development through our learning & development program, we’re not your typical 9-5 gig.
BBTV is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Our goal is to foster a diverse workforce that is representative, at all job levels, of the individuals we serve and to provide employees with a meaningful and inclusive work environment, free of discrimination and harassment.
BBTV believes that diversity and inclusion among our teammates is critical to our success as a global company. We seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Indigenous people, people of colour, people of all genders or non-genders, and people with disabilities of all types are encouraged to apply.
