The Assistant Director of Programs manages the planning and administration for multiple Rustandy Center programs and activities related to social sector engagement. Responsibilities include strategic planning, event design and execution, research, and stakeholder engagement for both established and new programs. It is based on the Hyde Park campus with occasional events and meetings downtown.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads planning and execution of multiple student- and alumni-facing social sector engagement programs. These include, but are not limited to, the Net Impact Board Fellows, Alumni Board Connect, and Nonprofit Leadership Circles. Coordinates with the events manager, on all aspects of event execution, including space reservation, catering needs, audiovisual and facilities needs, with attention to attendee needs and virtual event platforms. Coordinates with the marketing team to promote events and programs to students and alumni, including creation of materials such as posters, brochures, flyers, and surveys. Assists with evaluation and understanding of student and alumni needs in order to evolve and develop impactful programming.
• For nonprofit board programming, such as the virtual On Board series and the Nonprofit Board Toolkit, collaborates with colleagues to adapt the format, approach, and content to meet center objectives and evolving stakeholder needs. In collaboration with marketing, plans new nonprofit content as well as leverages event-based content to extend the reach of Center thought leadership.
• Manages outreach and programming for Booth’s Civic Scholars Program. Leads outreach to nonprofits, government agencies, and other external stakeholders to increase program awareness and pipeline candidates for this unique MBA scholarship program. Collaborates with internal departments to promote the program to individual applicants and social sector organizations, elevating Booth and the Center’s profile in this sector. Plans and executes co-curricular programming for Neubauer Civic Scholars including retreats, roundtable discussions, and social/networking events in conjunction with program directors.
• Coordinates external guest speakers and advisors, including managing the scheduling and logistics for 2-3 executives in residence.
• Works with community organizations, nonprofits, and businesses to explore avenues for collaboration with the Rustandy Center, Booth student groups, and alumni. Represents the Center, communicates potential resources, and cultivates and maintains external relationships.
• Connects student groups and individual students to mentors, speakers, and Rustandy Center support for their social sector activities and programming.
• Gathers actionable information regarding program outreach, quality, and attendance, identifying trends and opportunities to improve these activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree required.

Job Summary

The Advancement Associate is a member of the Advancement team at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. This position provides general operational support to the Office of Advancement and specific task support to the Global Events Strategy Team. The Advancement Associate is responsible for maintaining alumni, prospect, and donor data in Chicago Booth and University databases and systems.

Responsibilities
• Provides operational support and functions as the overall concierge to the Office of Advancement, promptly answering questions, solving problems, providing appropriate resources, and ensuring satisfaction via follow-up.

• Maintains contact, employer, and familial information on individuals and organizations in the alumni database used by the Office of Advancement.

• Maintains stewardship information in the alumni database.
• Assists the Global Event Strategy Team in the Cvent system including creating registration forms, running and sharing lists, and event reporting.
• Assists the Global Events Strategy Team with basic event logistics such as ordering, packing, inventorying, and shipping supplies.

The Principal Researcher provides a supportive research environment to a highly qualified recent PhD. The Principal Researcher collaborates with Prof. Rad Niazadeh (Chicago Booth School of Business) and Prof. Vahideh Manshadi (Yale School of Management) to enable Rad and Vahideh’s joint research under their direction. Responsibilities
• Works with the Global Program Management team to ensure high quality program delivery and learning experience for an assigned portion of Executive Education’s program portfolio.
• Acts as the owner and primary point of contact for participants, clients, and faculty before, during, and after Executive Education programs. Develops and manages all communication with participants and clients including program logistics, payment processes, prep work and post program communication.
• Collaborates with members of the Global Program Management team and faculty to manage the delivery of programs to clients and participants. Responsibilities include creation of program schedule; overseeing the program admissions process; managing the collection of materials utilized in each program from faculty (e.g. cases, books, articles and simulations); preparing materials for distribution among participants; managing the process of securing copyright permissions; managing faculty classroom needs.
• Plans, organizes, and executes all logistics related to in-person programs including catering and vendors, LMS, coordinating classroom IT/AV and other facilities on behalf of the program; supporting program delivery and working with clients ahead of and on program days.
• Supports online sessions, delivered primarily via the Zoom platform. This includes serving as a host for virtual sessions, sharing documents and videos, administering polls, coordinating break out rooms, monitoring attendance, and facilitating communication with faculty and participants to ensure a smooth delivery.
• Monitors open enrollment registrations and works in conjunction with the enrollment team to convert interested registrants to paid participants.
• Organizes and engages in program activities outside of the classroom; examples include company visits, dinners, and experiential activities.
• Assists in preparing and monitoring budgets; authorizes payment for materials, facilities, staff and faculty; tracks budget and expenditures associated with programs and prepares final accounting report at close of program.

The Associate Director of Major Gifts at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business implements comprehensive fundraising strategies to raise major gifts in support of the mission and priorities of the school. The Associate Director identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of current and potential donors with the capacity to make gifts in excess of $100,000.
