Pediatric Urgent Care Fellowship
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s National is accepting applications for a fellow in Academic Pediatric Urgent Care for 2023-24 academic year...
This fellowship program will train general pediatric residency graduates/general pediatricians in aspects of clinical care, procedural skills, teaching strategies, quality improvement and research fundamentals related to the emerging field of pediatric urgent care. The goal of the fellowship is to facilitate the integration of pediatricians into all pediatric environments—emergency departments, fast track, urgent care, private practice and develop future leaders in the field.
Fellows spend dedicated blocks of time learning from specialists in disciplines such as orthopedics, radiology and ENT and gaining experience in sedation, and procedural skills. Regularly occurring didactics and a course in quality improvement is provided and fellows are encouraged to participate in departmental teaching activities, administrative committees, research, and quality improvement projects depending on interest.
Interested practicing pediatricians are also encouraged to apply. This one-year fellowship is designed for pediatricians interested in practicing in either an academic or community setting who desire additional clinical and procedural pediatric training. Fellows will work alongside Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty at both campuses of the Emergency Department at Children’s National.
Children’s National is the only free-standing Children’s hospital and the only Level 1 Pediatric trauma center in Washington DC. Our large and diverse faculty consists of successful clinicians, educators, scientists and advocates. Our physicians have full faculty appointments in the George Washington School of Medicine.
