Christianity Today (CT) is seeking a Leadership Resources Director to lead resource development across the ministry. The ideal candidate will bring strong pastoral or church leadership experience, an affinity for the local and the global church, and the ability to convene leading thinkers and practitioners in the church leadership space. This role will require you to think like a... pastor, editor, and strategist - while building innovative yet practical tools for church leaders.
In this role, you will help re-envision and create a robust resource platform for pastors (combining CTpastors.com and PreachingToday.com) and oversee the content teams for ChurchLawandTax.com, ChurchSalary.com, and a growing number of church resources.
Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee CT’s pastoral resources, including CTPastors.com and PreachingToday.com. Work with other ministry leaders to develop a robust product offering for pastors and church leaders.
• Oversee CT’s church resources, including Church Law & Tax, ChurchSalary.com, and SmallGroups.com. Work closely with CT’s product strategy and editorial teams to develop resources for various audience segments, including Bible studies, reference materials, and other helpful tools for ministry leaders.
• Lead CT’s resource and event strategy from an editorial perspective, collaborating across groups as needed. Oversight of various product lines and resources, including the devotionals.
• Represent CT at various events, etc.
• Contribute as a key member of the ministry-wide content strategy team.
Requirements:
Experience + Education
• 5+ years of disciple-making or pastoral leadership experience on a church staff or in a ministry setting
• 10+ years of content experience across a variety of print and digital publishing environments, with a proven ability to identify good ideas, pursue their development, and oversee their execution
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, ministry, or another relevant field required - Master’s degree preferred but not required
Knowledge + Skills + Expectations
• The ability to think strategically and lead a team of ministry-minded content creators, curators, and editors
• Act as a liaison to supplement other CT-wide efforts
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and WordPress
• A solid understanding of brand development and direction
• A deep familiarity with the evangelical community, particularly leaders who are ministry subject matter experts
• The ability to engage theologically sound potential content contributors

The Accountant position is critical to the robust functioning of Christianity Today’s ministry. This role manages the general accounting functions, leads preparations for the annual audit process, and performs other accounting and budgeting tasks throughout the year. This is an 80% FT salaried position, with 30 hours per week and provides eligibility to receive full-time... benefits.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Accounting Functions (60%)
• Manage the monthly accounting function and closely watch financial account journal entries for accuracy. This involves entering and approving JEs, account reconciliations, managing the month-end close process, and producing financial statements for senior management review.
• Process specifically assigned journal entries including overhead allocation, recording grant expenditures, allocating salaries to various departments, and tracking prepaid/accrued/amortized expenses.
• Assist in the corporate annual budgeting process, including the preparation of assigned budgets, calculating budget allocations across departments, and data input/import into financial software.
• Prepare multi-state tax allocations and the monthly Canadian GST/HST tax expense journal necessary to complete/file the corresponding quarterly tax return.
• Develop a robust working knowledge of CT accounts, projects, and processes. Complete other accounting and/or administrative tasks as required.
Audit, IRS, & Legal Functions (15%)
• Coordinate the internal effort needed to complete the annual audit including preparing reports for auditor inspection and assigning tasks to the various employees who prepare documents to support the audit.
• Prepare specific financial schedules and reports for CTI’s annual audit. This might include preparing the IRS 990 and 990T tax forms and processing annual IRS tax forms (1099, 1042).
• Together with Finance Director, ensure that all paperwork and filings necessary for legal compliance are submitted in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable / Cash Management (15%)
• Approve coding for invoices ready for payment. Post accounts payable journals to the general ledger on a weekly basis.
• Initiate wire, ACH, and PayPal payments through JPMorgan once weekly A/P is approved for payment.
• Together with Finance Director, review and approve weekly Cash Receipts journals in financial software.
Payroll Functions (10%)
• Process bi-weekly and specialty payroll allocation journal entries after each payroll is processed by Finance Director.
• Reconcile quarterly 941 report filings to CTI’s general ledger.
• Together with Finance Director, prepare necessary documentation for workers comp & retirement plan audits, benefits/tax administration, and other payroll-related documentation.
• Miscellaneous payroll-related projects, including being trained as a payroll processor backup.
Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance (or substantial related work experience in the responsibilities of this position).
• MBA, MS in Accounting, or CPA license strongly preferred.
Experience
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in general accounting, with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Nonprofit-specific accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing financial software transitions a huge plus.
Knowledge and Skills
• Required knowledge of finance procedures, nonprofit legal requirements, and accounting processes.
• Must have the ability to analyze, report, interpret, and communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
• Must be familiar with payroll and accounting, and budgeting software.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables.
