Per Florida Statute 295.065, certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, receive preference and priority, and that certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.
• Assists in operation of the treatment facilities and maintenance including taking samples, lab testing, analyzing, and monitoring samples.
• Monitors, maintains, and repairs related equipment, wells, electrical panels, gauges, controllers, pumps, etc.
• Assists in treating wastewater and sewage for reuse on golf courses, etc.
• Reads meters; maintains monthly fuel readings; and inspects fire extinguishers.
• Inspects grease traps at restaurants within City limits to assure ordinance compliance.
• Assists in the supervision and training of trainees and other personnel.
• Repairs valves, scales, control panels and other electrical problems.

• Valid Florida class "C" certification in water treatment is required.
• Certified in the safe handling of chlorine.
• Certified in "Confined Space Entry."
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• Obtain a restricted Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's permit within 90 days from the date of hire for Water Operator.
• Obtain a Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within 180 days from date of hire for Water Operator.
• Obtain FEMA IS100 and IS700 within six (6) months from date of employment.
In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field.Physical Demands

Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter.
Performs crisis intervention functions to include, but not limited to restraining violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, and preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include, but not limited to, CPR, first aid, implementation of evacuation procedures, security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation.
Conducts inspections and visual and audio surveillance of persons, property, vehicles, building and outdoor areas. Physically checks doors, windows, gates, barred sections, fences and other areas to ensure proper security.
Attends mandatory and other training.

Primary Duties
• Opens, closes, and monitors park grounds, facilities, and swimming areas to ensure patrons comply with City ordinances, regulations and safety requirements. Enforces rules, regulations, and policies to all guests, groups, and organizations in a tactful manner.
• Patrols area via vehicle, bicycle, or by foot depending on area. Performs scheduled rounds of City parks and the waterfront area to provide surveillance and identify individuals trespassing after closing hours.
• Provides information such as available park services, facilities, and activities, park usage rules, and making reservations.
• May collect fees.
• Follows proper emergency procedures in the event of a serious incident. Notifies the proper authorities when necessary of violations. Works closely with the Clermont Police Department personnel.

• Checks facilities to ensure lights have been turned off and buildings secured.
• Conducts light maintenance duties as needed.
• Clears paved areas of debris, branches, and other obstructions to sustain a safe environment.

General Description
OPEN UNTIL FILLED
The Park Ranger is responsible for patrolling assigned areas to ensure visitors comply with City and State rules and regulations, to protect park and natural resources, to enhance the visitors' experience, and to coordinate with law enforcement as necessary. Works under the direct supervision of the Program Manager.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.
Please note that this is a part-time position that is not eligible for benefits, and veteran's preference does not apply.
Primary Duties
• Opens, closes, and monitors park grounds, facilities, and swimming areas to ensure patrons comply with City ordinances, regulations and safety requirements. Enforces rules, regulations, and policies to all guests, groups, and organizations in a tactful manner.
• Patrols area via vehicle, bicycle, or by foot depending on area. Performs scheduled rounds of City parks and the waterfront area to provide surveillance and identify individuals trespassing after closing hours.
• Provides information such as available park services, facilities, and activities, park usage rules, and making reservations.
• May collect fees.
• Follows proper emergency procedures in the event of a serious incident. Notifies the proper authorities when necessary of violations. Works closely with the Clermont Police Department personnel.
• Maintains logs and prepares incident reports as required.
• Checks facilities to ensure lights have been turned off and buildings secured.
• Conducts light maintenance duties as needed.
• Clears paved areas of debris, branches, and other obstructions to sustain a safe environment.
• Works with civic organizations, businesses, and a variety of user groups to coordinate park and facility usage under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Department.
• Receives and responds to inquiries, requests for assistance, concerns, and complaints in areas of responsibility.
• Assists with all special events as directed
• Operates vehicles, two-way radios, and other equipment.
• Works rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
