We are seeking a full time Business Development Coordinator - GFM. This position will be responsible for providing day to day support to the Business Development Managers in the GFM practice area, including pitching, directories, league tables, research, conferences and events and other profile-raising activities. This position will be based in the New York office and will report into the Business Development Manager - Global Financial Markets & Real Estate, Team Lead - Americas.

Responsibilities:
• Pitching & proposal support - assist with the preparation of capability statements, tailored client proposals and RfPs; responsible for maintaining business development materials such as practice group descriptions and lawyer biographies.
• Research & Analysis - conduct research on clients, competitors, and industry sectors to prepare partners for client/pitch meetings and to feed into business/client plans in the region.
• Events - coordinate and assist Business Development Managers and the Events team to plan and facilitate client events and seminars (including staffing events where appropriate).
• Managing information - proactively engage with associates to ensure that they feed into our experience database and capture and maintain deal information for league table submissions, directory submissions, pitches, partner biographies, awards and other external and internal communication activities; manage relevant mailing lists within our CRM database for targeted client and prospect mailings.
• Communications: assist the Business Development Managers and the Communications team to profile our practices and deals both internally and externally, including taking ownership of our internal practice area newsletter.
• Legal Directories: work with the Business Development Managers and the global directories team to manage the annual legal directory submission process for the various product groups.

Requirements/Preferences:
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services firm; prior business development/marketing experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:
• Understanding the practices - working closely with partners and associates to become very familiar with their offerings, clients and markets in order to advise and execute on the most effective marketing approaches.
• Winning new business - proactively identifying business opportunities, cross-selling opportunities, new potential clients and areas of business; conducting competitor, client and marketplace analysis; leading on the preparation of capability statements and tailored client proposals; and writing and/or maintaining business development materials such as practice group descriptions and lawyer biographies;
• Partner integration - supporting new lateral partners and associates to ensure their successful integration into the practice and the Firm; working with laterals and newly promoted partners on the development of their individual business plans and execution of ongoing business development needs.
• Supporting strategic client relationships - supporting client partners in developing and implementing strategic client plans and managing client teams, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and arranging for value-added services, such as CLE seminars
• Managing information - ensuring deal flow information is captured in transaction databases for league table submissions, directory listings, pitches, partner biographies, awards and other external and internal communication activities; and managing relevant mailing lists within our CRM database.
• Supporting industry sector teams - Identifying and driving synergies between practice and industry sector teams, including providing hands-on support for regional sector focus groups, keeping abreast of market trends, completing client research, developing integrated marketing campaigns, focusing on sector-specific clients and providing client management support.
• Positioning and profile raising - collaborating with our Communications & PR colleagues to identify opportunities to support individual lawyers and public matters that bolster the Corporate/M&A practice's visibility and reputation via media relations, seminar sponsorship/participation, internal communications and website and intranet content.
• Developing business plans - supporting the practice area leaders and group members in developing business plans with corresponding marketing and strategic plans; managing the execution of these plans.
• Research and market intelligence - overseeing the production of detailed client and industry research reports to support initiatives and client meetings; monitoring publications and other sources for potential opportunities and client development; and communicating research findings to partners and lawyers on a regular basis.
• Other - Supporting cross-practice business development initiatives as necessary; managing and contributing to wider BD projects, as required, including playing a key role in the development and roll-out of the Americas growth strategy.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree, JD a plus.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in business development/marketing experience in a law firm or other similar relevant experience in the legal/consulting sector.
• A global mindset and perspective.
• Ability to develop advisory relationships with partners, lawyers, and other key stakeholders by demonstrating:

o energetic with proactive, can-do attitude;

o strong analytical skills and attention to detail;

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $175,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

You will have distinct accountability for managing and delivering on key elements of our early talent strategy, notably our schools and social mobility strategies.

You will develop our early talent schools offering and be responsible for crafting our proposition as employer of choice for 16–18-year-olds wishing to pursue a career in commercial law.

You will have a specific focus on our 'access to the profession' flagship programme ACCESS and will maintain and monitor our ACCESS selection strategies to ensure the firm continues to hire exceptional candidates.

Relationships:

Operational:
