About the Opportunity: As a Senior Python Developer, you are a skilled technologist and problem-solver. You possess knowledge and experience designing, implementing, and testing performant and fault-tolerant serverless and container-based apps executing in the cloud. About The Opportunity
As the Senior Director, Assessment Specialist for AP English, you are responsible for the quality and validity of all assessment content for the AP English (Literature or Language) Exam. You will also manage a small team of assessment specialists in English, World Languages, and the Arts, guiding their assessment work and deliverables, as well as managing their training and development in assessment best practices.
The Senior Director, Assessment Specialist, AP English serves as the primary point of contact in AP for all assessment content for AP English (Literature or Language) collaborating closely with the AP English (Literature or Language) Course Lead (who leads curriculum development, guides instructional support, and reviews assessment content). The Senior Director, Assessment Specialist, AP English may provide assessment development support in other related subject areas. The Senior Director, Assessment Specialist, AP English is responsible for all item development and management from authoring to administration; training and collaborating with subject-matter experts (SMEs), typically college professors and secondary school teachers. S/he/they trains SMEs on assessment development protocols, translates between academics and technical experts (psychometricians), and collaborates to develop formative assessment materials and resources to support AP English (Literature or Language) teachers worldwide.
In This Role, You Will
Assessment Development and Scoring
• Serve as the assessment leader for AP English (Literature or Language), the primary person responsible for assessment development for AP English (Literature or Language)
• Be responsible for authoring/revising assessment content and training educator constituents to author assessment content, including selection of appropriate stimulus material, and applying best assessment practices
• Lead the development and management of all assessment content through iterative review stages with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including the AP English (Literature or Language) Course Lead, Assessment Production team, Test Development Committee, and the Chief Reader
• Be responsible for development of all assessment forms, ensuring the AP Exam development aligns with approved curricula and test specifications
• Conduct multiple face-to-face, weekend meetings, and virtual meetings (during work week, evenings, or weekends) annually with each of the committees within the Director’s stewardship as well as other committee meetings in the discipline, as needed
• Lead the successful scoring of student AP Exams at the annual scoring event in person and online—the AP Reading—and produce AP Reading publications materials for teacher and student use
Assessment Quality and Process
• Contribute to current research and best practices related to assessment; participate in regular discussions with other AP Curriculum & Assessment members on the current assessment standards and practices to build a set of common, shared beliefs about AP’s assessment directions within the larger educational and assessment community
• Contribute to processes for efficient, high-quality assessment development
• Refine and improve question task models as well as exam design in collaboration with and aligned to other College Board initiatives
• Monitor and improve exam validity, reliability, fairness, and quality, as well as reader reliability in accordance with established Program thresholds
• Serve as a recognized and trusted resource within the community by collaboration with the AP Course Lead in engagement with the community to drive teacher satisfaction with the AP English (Literature or Language) Exam
Team Management and Deliverables
• Manage and guide the work of assessment specialists in the English, World Languages, and Arts department to develop high-quality assessments aligned to AP exam specifications
• Train and support assessment specialists in assessment development practices, including quality, validity, and fairness in AP assessment development and design, an understanding of the item and test development lifecycle, and proficiency with tools of assessment development, including the item authoring/item bank platform
• Collaborate with assessment specialists across the Curriculum and Assessment team to ensure the implementation of standardized assessment procedures
• Collaborate with Assessment production project managers to establish schedules for test item and test form development, and to monitor assessment deliverables for your team

About The Opportunity
As the Director of the IT Pathway you will be on Career Kickstart’s founding team and a catalyst for change. You are an experienced IT course designer and teacher at the high school level, or at post-secondary level with high school experience/interaction. You are excited to apply your experience and knowledge with Information Technology education to a role where you will lead the development, piloting, launch, and ongoing management and improvement of a new Pathway of high school IT courses and assessments. You will build approximately four sequential courses that will align to state career and technical education (CTE) standards. You will also be responsible for the development and oversight of the production of instructional materials for students to ensure all courses are engaging and relevant for students, and professional learning materials for teachers to ensure they succeed.
Your deep commitment to educational equity and the potential of all students will be a major asset as you work to ensure the IT Pathway is designed to serve a diverse group of hundreds of thousands of high school students. Your experience providing consultation and implementing processes and strategies allow you to work effectively with teachers, higher education faculty, employers and workforce committees, and a diverse set of advisors to define and develop a curriculum, assessment, and credential for each Pathway course. Your exceptional communication skills and effective relationship management skills empower you to serve as a key spokesperson for the IT Pathway while presenting to internal stakeholders and ensuring that the Pathway is understood, accepted, and supported in K-12, higher education, and workforce communities.
In This Role, You Will
Curriculum and Instruction
• Coordinate with broad coalition of stakeholders (especially K-12 and employers, as well as higher ed) to design the courses and assessments to meet state standards, and to align to secondary, postsecondary, and employer needs and requirements.
• Collaborate with internal College Board colleagues and external colleagues to develop instructional resources designed to meet teacher needs and increase course access and student success.
Assessment
• Design assessments to validly demonstrate student technical skills and knowledge and to maximize opportunity for real-world acceptance (including readiness for springboard jobs).
• Manage the annual assessment development and scoring cycle, including exam content, scoring materials, and validity evidence.
• Work within and outside the College Board to develop assessment delivery approach.
Product Strategy & Launch
• Maintain a deep understanding of the career technical education (CTE) landscape and IT Pathways. Translate knowledge into program strategy and improvements.
• Support workstreams to ensure product/program delivers exceptional user experience to students, educators, and schools.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure program vision is translated into key design choices and technical requirements, and that development roadmap stays on track.
About You
You have:
• Either a degree in Information Technology or a related field or a degree in teaching required
• Three years’ experience teaching postsecondary or high school Information Technology courses required
• Experience with design and implementation of professional development as well as experience with instructional design and content development required
• Proven ability to manage and/or launch new projects
• High degree of personal ownership and accountability to consistently deliver results in a fast-paced and high-profile environment

About The Opportunity
As the Director of the IT Pathway you will be on Career Kickstart’s founding team and a catalyst for change. You are an experienced IT course designer and teacher at the high school level, or at post-secondary level with high school experience/interaction. You are excited to apply your experience and knowledge with Information Technology education to a role where you will lead the development, piloting, launch, and ongoing management and improvement of a new Pathway of high school IT courses and assessments. You will build approximately four sequential courses that will align to state career and technical education (CTE) standards. You will also be responsible for the development and oversight of the production of instructional materials for students to ensure all courses are engaging and relevant for students, and professional learning materials for teachers to ensure they succeed.
Your deep commitment to educational equity and the potential of all students will be a major asset as you work to ensure the IT Pathway is designed to serve a diverse group of hundreds of thousands of high school students. Your experience providing consultation and implementing processes and strategies allow you to work effectively with teachers, higher education faculty, employers and workforce committees, and a diverse set of advisors to define and develop a curriculum, assessment, and credential for each Pathway course. Your exceptional communication skills and effective relationship management skills empower you to serve as a key spokesperson for the IT Pathway while presenting to internal stakeholders and ensuring that the Pathway is understood, accepted, and supported in K-12, higher education, and workforce communities.
In This Role, You Will
Curriculum and Instruction
• Coordinate with broad coalition of stakeholders (especially K-12 and employers, as well as higher ed) to design the courses and assessments to meet state standards, and to align to secondary, postsecondary, and employer needs and requirements.
• Collaborate with internal College Board colleagues and external colleagues to develop instructional resources designed to meet teacher needs and increase course access and student success.
Assessment
• Design assessments to validly demonstrate student technical skills and knowledge and to maximize opportunity for real-world acceptance (including readiness for springboard jobs).
• Manage the annual assessment development and scoring cycle, including exam content, scoring materials, and validity evidence.
• Work within and outside the College Board to develop assessment delivery approach.
Product Strategy & Launch
• Maintain a deep understanding of the career technical education (CTE) landscape and IT Pathways. Translate knowledge into program strategy and improvements.
• Support workstreams to ensure product/program delivers exceptional user experience to students, educators, and schools.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure program vision is translated into key design choices and technical requirements, and that development roadmap stays on track.
About You
You have:
• Either a degree in Information Technology or a related field or a degree in teaching required
• Three years’ experience teaching postsecondary or high school Information Technology courses required
• Experience with design and implementation of professional development as well as experience with instructional design and content development required
• Proven ability to manage and/or launch new projects
• High degree of personal ownership and accountability to consistently deliver results in a fast-paced and high-profile environment
• Comfort with ambiguity and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a process-oriented mindset
