ConAgra Brands Vlasic facility located in Imlay City, Michigan, has an opportunity for an afternoon (2nd Shift) Produce Receiving Clerk (seasonal demand February-November) offering $16/hour with opportunity to return year over year. The Produce Receiving Clerk reports to and collaborates with the Produce Receiving Team Leader. Primarily responsible for coordinating produce receiving activities... for incoming shipments with a smooth flow of raw materials to the production lines. The qualified candidate will maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing shipments and complete required shipment verification. Other duties include assistance with overseeing the processing, storage, use and documentation of supplies, materials, and equipment. Assistance with making arrangements to complete project work, periodic and daily routines to support the production and receiving requirements. Documentation of work procedures. Assist shift team leaders in preparing work schedules and expediting workflow.
Position Responsibilities
• Coordinates produce receiving operations and production support requirements with the Quality, Agriculture, and Production Operations departments.
• Maintains timely loading, unloading, and scheduling of produce or ingredients to meet plant and corporate objectives.
• Assists in overseeing shipping/receiving operations to provide efficient handling of raw materials and support of production requirements.
• Adheres to and maintains produce rotation and QA inspection/hold programs.
• Periodically audits inventory for accuracy and obsolete product.
• Enforces the plant's safety program including food safety GMP's.
• Assist in monitoring produce receiving area and employees to eliminate work hazards and prevent unsafe acts.
• Submit work orders for repairs and recommend changes for safe operation.
• Assist in driving initiatives to reduce cost through labor controls, damage reduction, implementation of new methods and tools to improve productivity.
• Coordinates other activities in produce receiving as required.
Position Qualifications
• Strong experience in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
• Previous experience in a food processing, manufacturing or receiving environment is a plus
• A self-motivated individual that can multi-task.
• Associates Degree preferred but not required.

Employees also work with chemicals and clean/sanitize lines. Personal protective equipment including bump cap, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe shoes, and hair nets must be worn. Job involves working on a team and must be able to work well with others.
High School diploma required. 1-3 years previous manufacturing experience preferred. Effective communication skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and attention to detail required.

• Troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, and test parts/components on plant & production equipment
• Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order
• You will inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure production operation
• Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant and production equipment
• Use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, and test parts/equipment on plant and production equipment
• Perform electrical and pneumatic work on production machines
• Welding, electrical and fabrication experience
• You may work seven days a week and extended shift schedules
Position Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years progressive mechanic experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Vocational tech training in machine maintenance
• Carry and push/pull up to 100 pounds
• Read and write English for completion of production/quality documents.
• Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages
• Familiar with and ability to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, plasma cutter, torch and basic hand tools
• Electrical experience

You will bring a food forward and culinary focused mindset to improve or bring new products to the table. Position Responsibilities:
• Develop new products beginning at the concept phase through successful commercialization.
• Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes that appeal to customers by understanding consumer demand
• Assist team with product cutting, plant trials, and testing
• Conduct plant trials and new product start-ups.
• Work with pilot plant equipment under supervision.
• Learn and utilize on-line specification system.
• Execute experiments and prepare results for review.
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area, including the cleaning of equipment, utensils and work surfaces.
• Maintain accurate and complete records.
Position Qualifications:
• BS in Food Science or related field required.
• 1+ year of relevant work or internship experience preferred.
• Requires knowledge in food product design, formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, process design, product scale-up, plant testing and commercialization.
Physical Requirements:
• Work in and around cramped/confined spaces
• Climb with stairs or ladders
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended work days to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions
• Use tools, equipment, and machinery
• Drive a company or rental vehicle for up to 6 hours as needed
• May travel up to 30% of time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible Conagra representative.
• Exposure to food tasting and smells including all food allergens
We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future.
