The position is responsible for managing all aspects of key customer accounts. The individual accomplishes this by understanding the customers' needs... and expectations and building effective relationships internally and at the customer level based on trust, confidence, and reliability. In this role, the individual will coordinate with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer experience. This position may require occasional travel.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
• Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to assigned accounts.
• Establish a long-lasting relationship with contacts at all levels of the customer's organization.
• Exceed customer expectations to respond to Requests for Quotations (RFQ's), order status, surveys, audits, complaints, and other requested information or issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare product price quotations following company pricing policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation, submittal, and negotiation of long-term customer contracts.
• Communicate the progress of customer-based initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in developing new business with existing customers and identifying areas of improvement to meet assigned sales goals.
• Forecast and track key customer metrics, such as On-Time Delivery and Delivered Quality.
• Prepare reports on account status.
• Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
• Review customer Purchase Orders for completeness and compliance with the Consolidated Industries price quotation and Consolidated Industries standard terms and conditions.
• Ensure customer Purchase Orders are entered into the company's ERP System within the period prescribed by individual and company performance metrics.
• Track customer orders through the order entry, contract review, and production cycles to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate schedule changes with the customer to prevent early or late shipments.
• Access strategic customer e-business Internet portals to download or enter a purchase order, order confirmation, forecast data, production planning information, customer drawing/specification/non-conformance documentation, and customer contractual or quality information.
• Assist supervisor with special projects.
Critical Requirements:
• BS in Management or Marketing or Equivalent Experience.
• Five years of proven work experience in an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager, or similar role.
• Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.
• Proven ability to manage multiple account management projects, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
• Intermediate level or higher in use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Prior experience utilizing a customer relationship management program such as SalesForce.
• Ability to interpret part drawings and material specifications a plus.
• Ability to use the Internet for the customer, product, or market research.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Competency Requirements:
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and exceed assigned goals.
• Establish priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
