Qualifications We’re Looking For:
• Demonstrated expert-level experience with master data management.
• Demonstrated expert-level experience with enterprise data and integration platforms such as AWS Snowflake, Redshift, MuleSoft, lmformatica, Tableau, SAS.
• Proven experience leading development of data management plans based on organizational data strategy, including ensuring data quality, data cataloging, and data access.

As the Deputy Director, Accounting and Accounting Systems Operations, you will…
• provide policy direction and leadership oversight, through your technical GAAP expertise, over the activities performed by your staff related to the preparation of budgetary/legal based annual financial statements and Covered California’s annual comprehensive reporting.
• direct the resolution of reconciliation and payment issues and workload backlogs of Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) and other programs through various technology solutions while providing leadership direction in the exploration and implementation of new technology solutions and manual work around processes to stabilize the CCSB and make improvements for processing CCSB related transactions.
• develop and document accounting policy and procedures and provide leadership and executive direction for the preparation and control of accounting records and activities of the accounts receivable, reconciliations, accounts payable, general ledger, federal reporting, cash management and financial reporting activities.

• Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization to understand, explain, coach, and inspire action.

• Strong operational focus on maintaining, designing, documenting, and evaluating internal controls over financial reporting.
• Making policy decisions that have an overall positive impact to accounting operations.
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and other guidance provided by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and the AICPA.
