Position Overview

The Culinary Center Program Manager is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all staff and customers. The Program Manager is responsible for daily programs, events, and activities offered by the MCPL Culinary Center. The Program Manager ensures that the Teaching Kitchen meets its mission to enrich the lives of MCPL customers with food and through food. The Program Manager also assists in managing and leading food business programs and events.

This position provides leadership, professional expertise, and direction for the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programming and events offered by the Culinary Center.

Essential Functions
• Manages Culinary Center programming and events
• Curates virtual, hybrid, hands-on, and demonstration style culinary programs
• Develops, presents, and teaches in-house culinary programs and events
• Executes food and food business programs offered by the Culinary Center through collaboration with MCPL staff, program presenters, partner chefs, and partner organizations
• Administers and reports program evaluations
• Researches, recommends, and develops Culinary Center services around culinary topics, literature, and trends.
• Serves as Culinary Center liaison for staff, community, and partners
• Cultivates and supports outreach opportunities for the Culinary Center & Executes Culinary Center marketing strategies.
• Performs basic custodial duties, as needed
• Enhances the Culinary Center through strategic partnerships and outreach
• Enhances the system-wide efforts of Mid-Continent Public Library
