Dakota News Now is looking for a dynamic anchor / multimedia journalist to join our sports team. The ideal candidate will anchor and produce a sportscast and report on sporting events.

We're looking for someone with great news sense, intelligence, and energy. The ideal candidate must be able to produce compelling sports segments and memorable stories.

Please note, the primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the information listed above
• Works with news director, sports director and assignment desk to determine, plan and staff daily sportscasts
• Must have excellent news & sports judgment and journalism ethics
• Must have strong writing, storytelling and reporting skills
• Must have strong producing skills (create a newscast rundown, write stories, build graphics and coordinate with control room and field crews)
• Must be skilled in social media and online news production.

KOTA and KEVN are the ABC and FOX affiliates in Rapid City at the base of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We are looking for a self-starter and someone with a proven track record covering state politics and a proven track record of developing relationships with lawmakers and key staff. We are looking for a journalist who can dive into the data and tell impactful stories that hold elected officials and state agencies accountable. This journalist must have the ability to show how these stories impact our viewers. Coverage will be on-air, live or taped, and on digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Works with news directors and assignment desks to determine, plan and staff all important stories of state-wide politics

Dakota News Now is looking for a full-time multimedia journalist for our news bureau in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We are looking for a self-starter; someone who likes working on their own. We want someone who can connect with the community, understands quality storytelling and is able to gather their own content. You will be running a one-person newsroom covering northeastern South Dakota, so organizational and communication skills are critical. Planning is essential. The ideal candidate must be able to work odd hours to complete assigned stories and cover breaking news. You must be able to carry 35 to 45 pounds of equipment. A valid driver's license as well as a safe driving record is necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities include/ (but are not limited to):
• Works with news directors and assignment desk to determine, plan and staff daily newscasts
• Must have excellent news judgment and journalism ethics
• Must have strong writing, storytelling and reporting skills
• Must have strong producing skills (create a newscast rundown, write stories, build graphics and coordinate with control room and field crews)
• Must be skilled in social media and online news production.
• Must possess good organizational and time management skills
• While primarily a dayside Monday-Friday position, must be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or related field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in on-air television news producing is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Basic experience with newsroom computer systems is preferred (ENPS)
• Understanding of and adherence to AP Style (for digital platforms) and broadcast writing (for television).
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Ability to represent station professionally/responsibly in the community and newsroom, and on social media
• Must have a desire to win, the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback

Job Summary/Description:

KSFY/KDLT, a Gray Television owned, ABC/NBC/FOX affiliate in Sioux, SD, is seeking an Engineer. Position requires a full knowledge of station operations and technical layout, with a strong emphasis on broadcast news. Must possess good interpersonal communications skills, both oral and written, and be fully computer literate with understanding of IT or networking. Comprehensive knowledge of RF signals, transmission mechanics, mechanical engineering, and studio technical equipment operation. Technical skill enabling diagnosis to the module level required with the ability to diagnose to the electrical component level a plus. Requires competent knowledge of broadcast signal flow with the ability to quickly identify key points of failure and bypass faults with minimal system down time.

Additional duties will be managing all engineering aspects of the technical facility including studio support, post editing systems, field production support and transmission of live/taped events and programs. Have expert knowledge regarding equipment, technology, and systems and be able to step in an assist in emergency situations. Performs regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment replacement, supplies, etc. Documents and executes necessary corrective actions. Ensures all transmission equipment is operating correctly before and during live event telecasts - corrects and documents technical problems and report them to the managers. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and communication with other departments by maintaining discrepancy logs and equipment incident reports and regularly auditing these documents to identify areas where performance or process needs to improve. Assist Chief Engineer in overseeing and implementing Engineering projects. Must be able to insert and remove control room rack equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with the help of another employee. Maintains building needs. Have working knowledge of the latest operating systems software, including server and desktop operating systems. Familiar with networking routing and IP addressing. Manage the maintenance and repair of all company facilities associated with our station. This includes HVAC, generators, security systems, satellite dishes, electrical, hardware, etc. Manage the maintenance and repair of the towers, antennas, and transmission lines/connections. Must be available to work during breaking news situations, severe weather, new system integrations and updates, and provide on call services 24/7.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of working experience in broadcast engineering. A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related is preferred but is not required. On-the-job and/or formal training repairing Broadcast Transmitters. Display and maintain professional appearance, based on station standards and professional demeanor. Strong leadership skills and ability to operate and adapt in high pressure situations. Professional, communicative, highly self-motivated, detail oriented, and focused individual traits. Must have a clean driving record.
