Your group offers a Kubernetes based PaaS, along with tools and systems to enable users working in a large multi-cluster environment.
It is your responsibility to ensure that this platform enables the engineering community at Datadog to work efficiently and safely. You’ll find yourself in a unique position to drive major infrastructure growth initiatives that will influence top line revenue growth by opening new sales channels and markets.

What You’ll Do:
• You’ll manage a team of 40 engineers and managers and help facilitate rapid growth of that group to meet your users needs.
• You’ll manage the infrastructure side of complex relationships with external partners, including capacity planning and infrastructure growth initiatives.
• You’ll work with peers and users across the engineering organization to understand the unique environment we operate in, acting as the lead product manager for your domain.

• You’ve led large engineering teams, ideally in the cloud native infrastructure space.
• You’ve managed other managers and helped mentor the next generation of leaders.
• You have experience working with at least one, but ideally multiple, large scale modern infrastructures, and understand what patterns worked well from each.

The Opportunity:
The Application Security team is the newest product of the Cloud Security Platform. As a Product Manager, you will shape a product helping change how cloud-native organizations monitor and protect their web-applications and APIs. Together with your team, you will build solutions that intelligently detect threats, correlate observability information, and ultimately help customers remediate and stop attacks.
You Will:
• Engage with leading security teams to identify new opportunities and extract valuable product feedback
• Work closely with our world-class, distributed engineering team to ship features unlocking customer value
• Partner with our product leaders across Security, APM, and Logs to derive security signals from observability data
• Independently research the market and competition
• Drive the product roadmap for the application security product

• You have a proven track record of 3+ years as a product manager, ideally at a SaaS company

• Build distributed, real-time, high-volume data pipelines and work together with others to enable high-scale Data Science
• Do it with Spark, Luigi, Kafka and other open-source technologies
• Work all over the stack, moving fluidly between programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, Go, and more

• Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company
Requirements:
• You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
• You have built and operated data pipelines for real customers in production systems
• You are fluent in several programming languages (JVM & otherwise)
• You enjoy wrangling huge amounts of data and exploring new data sets
• You value code simplicity and performance
• You want to work in a fast, high growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers
• You are preferably familiar with Spark and/or Hadoop and know how to put machine learning models in production
