Experience & Education

Benefits Administration
• Primary responsibilities are billing reconciliation, leave management and liaising with employees, benefits brokers, vendors, and third-party administrators.
• Play a key role in new hire orientation and onboarding.
• Provide customer service, answer questions, and develop collegewide communication and marketing messages.
• Develop college-wide wellness programming.
• Plan, develop and implement new hire enrollment and oversee planning and execution of annual open Enrollment activities.
• Leave management: FMLA, disability accommodation, and workers compensation.
• Ensure legislative compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records and answer requests.
• Work with payroll, I.T. and other departments to ensure accuracy of records and updates are made appropriately.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Multi-task, follow through on special projects, and be proactive in anticipating employee and department needs;
• Respond to written, telephone and walk-in inquiries with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.

Talent Development & Learning
• Conduct needs assessments, data analysis, design, develop and deliver training on a variety of HR related topics to individual contributor and people manager audiences.

• Administer pulse surveys after training, events and forums and engage a continuous improvement process.
• Develop and deliver an effective and dynamic college-wide onboarding program.
• Leverage internal learning resources and identify cost-effective external resources for employee development.
• E-learning program coordination
Compensation Administration
• Administer compensation and pay in alignment with the College policies.
• Review requests, determine appropriate pay for new hires and internal promotions.
• Conduct compensation studies, perform internal comparisons for similar positions and advise Vice President.
• Develop architecture and conduct planning for career mapping, progression and develop career lattices.
Employee Relations
• Primary responsibilities include conflict mitigation, resolution, and internal investigations.
• Maintain a log of employee relations issues, complaints, and investigations.
• Perform intake of complaints, conduct workplace and Title IX investigations; document and resolve grievances.
• Deliver training on best practices in performance management and manage the performance management process.
• Guide the development of performance improvement plans (PIP)
• Coach and mentor people managers and individual contributors on inclusive behaviors and team dynamics
• Ensure Title IX investigators receive periodic training and updates on applicable legislation.
• Conduct employee experience surveys; develop and execute action plans based on findings.
Risk Management
• Leave of Absence Coordination (i.e., FMLA, ADA, WC, Personal)
• Represent HR on Safety Committee
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies;
• Workers' Compensation
Human Resources Administration & Employee Programs
• Coordinate activities and programs for human resources;
• Make recommendations for policy changes, process efficiencies and effectiveness;
• Research, recommend and deliver rewards and recognition programs for employees;
• Special projects as assigned by the Vice President

Experience & Education

The successful candidate will have at least five years of hands-on experience administering policies, procedures, and programs in three or more functional areas of human resources as outlined below. The candidate must bring a broad knowledge of legislation, compliance, and systems and processes related to HR. Higher education experience is preferred but not required.

Required: Bachelor's degree, SHRM certification with 3-5 years full-time experience in human resources. Solid understanding of each functional area across the employee life cycle and a high comfort level with presentations and public speaking. The role is hands-on, administrative, and technical in nature and you will bring your strong organizational skills, HR experience, and insight to the team as you administer and refine existing programs and implement efficient protocols, document procedures, and execute with excellence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. You are conscientious with excellent follow-through and the ability to get things done!
