Job Description

Position involves the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of data programming objects, reports, and ETL processes.

Examples of Work
• Design and architect small scale to complex databases
• Design and create all forms of database objects and schemas
• Create standard to complex, multi-sourced reports using a reporting engine (e.g., Reporting Services)
• Create complex DTS/SSIS packages
• Define and create simple to complex ETL processes
• Assist other database developers with object creation, optimization
• Assist the DBA with defining database standards and processes
• Responsible for Database Team owned server jobs. Assist with creation, scheduling and maintenance of said jobs.
• Assist application developers with performance and stored procedure optimization
• Define, scope and deliver development projects
• Assist users in determining appropriate data models
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, user training testing, final acceptance testing, and modifications based on user feedback
• Participate in vendor product reviews and provide feedback.
• Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies
• Maintain existing and new databases, make modifications, deploy updates as required
• Prepare reports, statuses, system documentation, technical papers, and presentations periodically. Maintain business correspondence and keep documentation current

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Candidate Skills, Knowledge, and Proficiencies:
• Thorough understanding of a TSQL database language (e.g. SQL)
• Understanding of client-server computing
• Data Analysis/Report building experience (e.g., SSRS)
• Experience with data management
• Database design experience
• Proficient and demonstrated use of reporting and query tools
• Understanding of software development lifecycle
• Understanding of development in a multi-system environment
• Thorough understanding of SQL Server configuration and server environment
• Experience building/creating tables, views, stored procedures, functions and indexes
• Experience working with creating and maintaining ETL processes

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
• Transaction application database knowledge
• Data Warehouse experience
• Experience with geocoded data
• Experience with CLR functions

Open Requirements/Supplemental Information

Previous Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience
• 1 - 12+ years professional IT data related experience with a demonstrated understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• 1 - 10+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience or comparable enterprise DB experience

Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to conduct research and effectively collaborate with outside entities and agencies regarding current best practices
• Must maintain existing knowledge and skills through continuing education;
• Must have a personal standard of high attention to detail in all work tasks;
• Must work well as part of a team and/or as an individual depending on the task at hand;

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Product Cybersecurity team at our location in Farmington Hills, MI.

Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Independent Assessments:
• This is a multinational role and the position shall perform Product Cybersecurity assessments on projects of multiple ZF Product Lines by reviewing and evaluating the corresponding Cybersecurity Assessment Reports.
• The role shall perform project-independent confirmation reviews on project cybersecurity work packages as defined in the ZF Cybersecurity Engineering Process and in compliance with ISO 21434 and UNECE R155 for cybersecurity.
• The role shall communicate and prioritize cybersecurity case-related issues, supporting project teams by facilitating solution of findings from Confirmation Reviews and Assessments.

Training:
• Support the development of the Product Cybersecurity Training strategy (e.g., definition of training modules, creation, review and maintenance of training material).
• Interface with Product Lines Cybersecurity organizations to increase awareness and understanding of ZF Cybersecurity Engineering Process, ISO 21434 and UNECE R155 for cybersecurity, by delivering cybersecurity trainings and awareness sessions.

Reporting:
• Track and report projects compliance with respect to the ZF CEP; report cybersecurity metrics for the assigned ZF Divisions.

Process Improvement:
• Support improvement of ZF Cybersecurity infrastructure (e.g., Process, Methods, Tools, Templates, Guidelines).
• Cooperate with other ZF Functions (e.g., Quality, Safety, IT and Production Security, etc.) on harmonization and improvement of Processes and Cybersecurity Culture within ZF.
• In line with the escalation process, provide expertise on the ZF CEP by interfacing with customers on cybersecurity-related discussions to support the Product Lines as needed.

Qualifications:
• At minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical related area
• At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Strong knowledge of Cybersecurity standards and guidelines and at least 3 years of experience in their practical implementation in the projects
• Demonstrated record of leading projects and/or implementing cybersecurity in the projects
• Experience with the development of automotive electronic systems
• Experience working with OEMs as customers
• Excellent skills for negotiation
• Pragmatic self-starter who enjoys problem solving
• Excellent English-speaking skills and written competency
• Experience in evaluation and auditing of cybersecurity-relevant products, preferably in the automotive sector, is preferred
• Demonstrated industry involvement and leadership (e.g., Auto-ISAC, ISO, VDA) is preferred
• Experience in Functional Safety, preferably automotive (e.g., ISO 26262, A-SPICE, IATF 16949) is preferred
• German language capabilities are a bonus
