The Family Support Specialist will conduct home visits to high risk families in the home in a manner that supports the mission of Families in Good Health and the philosophy of the program. FSS will work with Family Resource Specialist (FRS) to obtain referrals to qualified home visiting families. The Patient Registration Rep is responsible for accurately and efficiently registering patient for medical services, obtaining necessary information, and ensuring a positive patient experience. • *Responsibilities**
• Greet patient and visitor and provide excellent customer service.
• Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services, including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
• Obtain necessary information such as medical history, medications, allergies and other related information from patients and ensure that all information is entered correctly into the electronic health record
• Assist patient in filling out necessary paperwork
• Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service and provide patients with receipts
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient receive the appropriate care.
• *Qualifications**
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital registration experience required.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to type 35 WPM accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literacy required.
• Basic knowledge of hospital computer systems including PC Windows environment optical imaging software electronic mail printers scanners and other office computer hardware required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Fire Safety care required (have 90 days to obtain as of hire date)
