What To Expect:

Each DoLA intern starts their day the same way. With a focus on the website, newsletter, app, and socials, we have a lot of eyes hitting a variety of content and need your help keeping it fresh, engaging, and accurate. DoLA's interns will be responsible for, or involved in, many aspects of the website and operational process. This internship role will require an ambitious candidate with keen attention to detail. The candidate should be able to think creatively about content opportunities, social media strategy, audience, and consumer behavior, while also hitting shows and events around town. Interns have the opportunity to network and make a variety of exciting and useful contacts at DoLA. Creativity, new ideas, and opinions are always welcome.

Job Requirements and Skills Needed for CONTENT, EDITORIAL, & AUDIENCE GROWTH

Able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Strong passion for music, culture, food, events, nightlife, and Los Angeles in general.

Some marketing experience or prior coursework is helpful.

An understanding of audience and demographic overlap and needs.

Confident, creative thinker with the ability to speak up and contribute in a team environment.

Self-motivated person who can stay focused and get the job done in a laid-back environment in addition to taking initiative when assigned tasks are completed.

Flexible schedule enough to attend events as frequently as possible. 21+ is always good, but open to all candidates over the age of 18.

Entrepreneurial mindset - able to think outside of the box for creative ideas and ways DoLA can work with other companies to generate attention, audience growth, brand awareness, sales/revenue, etc.

People skills - able to tactfully talk with people and businesses to encourage them to engage with DoLA.

Ability to stay calm in high-pressure event environments.

Deep understanding of the DoLA product - how and why it's beneficial whether speaking with clients or users.

Candidate should be looking to fill a college credit requirement. This is negotiable depending on other skills and credit available, but the candidate will have to prove the ability to take on such an important role if not seeking credit.

Responsibilities

Content Management including reviewing the website for accuracy and aesthetic cohesiveness, entering shows/events as well as happy hours and daily specials from various sources i.e. newsletters, venue, and event calendars, fixing/adding events, artists, venues, etc.

Producing evergreen editorials and helping plan content across all social media channels.

Developing ideas and concepts to increase impressions and audience engagement on the DoLA website, in the daily newsletter, or via social media.

Creatively thinking about other content, giveaways, and opportunities that would be of interest to the DoLA community and work to increase engagement and/or registration.

Be able to attend a large majority of events outside of normal office hours and document them for social media and/or editorial assignments.

Additional Requirements and Skills Needed

Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.

Strong, proven writing skills with examples; specifically familiar with event previews, reviews, and blogging in general.

Strong focus, able to work quickly and efficiently, and have an eye for detail/organization.

The Role:

As our Live Events Sales Executive, you will be crucial in driving sales and revenue growth for our DoLA and DoSD properties. You will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and hitting aggressive sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure their campaigns succeed and develop further, ongoing business. Become an expert in how live event promoters/marketers run their business. Be able to provide custom solutions for them for every stage of the event cycle from event announcement > starting their ticket selling cycle > marketing push > ticket selling cycle closing > live event plays off.
• Prospect and build targeted lists across local & regional live events and local business verticals, as well as new partnerships and fresh ticket inventory with local event promoters for our DoMORE subscription service.
• Monitor the live event landscape locally and become an expert on what is happening – constantly scouring ticketing sites (e.g., Ticketmaster, Live Nation, Eventbrite, AXS, etc.). Monitor discount platforms that transact tickets and promote events (e.g., Goldstar, Groupon, Yelp premium, Facebook, etc.).
• Represent our brand at community events and create DoLA/DoSD events to solidify our presence and connection with the local scene.
• Sell digital marketing campaigns to local & regional businesses looking to make an impact in your city.
• Work closely with Account Managers to fulfill sold client programs and ensure flawless client service and delivery.
• Use our CRM platform to manage a pipeline of media partners.
• Develop sales proposals and contracts.
• Hit aggressive monthly, quarterly & annual sales quotas.

About You / You Have:
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in media sales
• Driven and capable of achieving aggressive sales targets
• Self-motivated and able to operate independently
• A deep understanding of our target consumer (21-35-year-old, social & influential in DoLA / DoSD who love to discover new things in and about their city), coupled with a passion to explore and connect culture in SoCal.
