Student Support Services provides high quality and culturally responsive services within schools and preschools to assist them in meeting the needs of all children. The Flexible Services Response Team, as part of Student Support Services, is committed to providing a range of flexible service delivery approaches inclusive of FIFO, Tele Practice, External Provider Program and cross office support.
The Aboriginal Cultural Liaison Coordinator will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure Aboriginal students are central to the design and delivery of flexible service delivery approaches. This will include engaging with relevant local Aboriginal community members in regional South Australia to support culturally responsive service provision, and building the cultural capability of the flexible services response team.
The ACLC will be responsible to the Team Manager Statewide Services for supporting the development of systems and processes to ensure cultural considerations are embedded within the operational management of flexible service approaches. The ACLC will actively network with the broader team of Aboriginal employees within the directorate to advance the development of culturally responsive services and will access cultural support from the Aboriginal Support and Inclusion Lead for Student Support Services.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
