About the position:

E Ink California, LLC. is seeking a Product Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing a brand-new product with a team, ensuring the product design meets market requirements, regulatory and manufacturing requirements. The Engineer will develop new performance metrics, test methods, and product specifications, leading product qualification activities. This position will link the market requirements and the product definition as well as the manufacturing readiness and the product quality. This Engineer also prepares, tracks, documents and communicates project plans. This person coordinates with multiple groups both internally (technical team, marketing, operation) and externally (customers and supply chain partners) to ensure successful product qualification.

Responsibilities:
• Develop product specifications based on customers' requirements in collaboration with the business unit and product develop teams
• Develop and validate testing methods and performance metrics to quantify key attributes in developing product specifications, set up and qualify equipment/processes, create SOPs, transfer the test method to pilot and production line
• Develop and direct qualification plans including test plans, material requirements, compliance and schedules
• Lead root cause analysis to identify and address potential design and manufacturing issues, improve product quality and performance
• Analyze test results and publish reports to recommend state of product readiness to management and support qualification decisions
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute product development plans
• Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and contribute to a cohesive team working culture.

Qualifications:
• S. or PhD in chemical, material or mechanical engineering
• 5+ years of experience in product development with a focus on quality engineering
• Experienced testing method development and statistical analysis
• Operational user knowledge of statistical software
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address issues quickly
• Demonstrated strong documentation, communication and organization skill
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues and external collaborators
• High energy and self-motivated candidate who is goal-oriented, creative, and be able to handle multiple tasks

E ink is seeking a Quality Engineer, who will be responsible for product quality support and reliability testing. In this cross functional quality role, you will be responsible in identifying, documenting, analyzing and reporting product quality issues, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and NCs (None conformity) that is appropriately evaluated and resolved. You will ensure product and process conformance to applicable quality system requirement and standards. ISO compliance experience is a plus. Individuals applying for this position must be self-starters, strategic thinkers, action driven, thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating across the organization and with external partners, and be able to work with the R&D team.

Duties:
• Support product quality and manufacturing activities and is accountable for driving change, establishing effective and sustainable business processes (nonconformity, customer complaints and CAPA), improving product quality, and providing senior management with actionable data mining/analysis and status updates.
• Provide quality support for NPI activities including process and product transfer, and QC method validation, equipment and process qualification and facility validation, and product lifecycle management.
• Manages the execution of objectives for the control of external suppliers and contract vendors to assure the supply of acceptable quality of materials and product, resolve supplier quality issue and monitor supplier quality performance.
• Understand the applicable E ink technologies to participation in technical discussions, drive and facilitate product design and process risk management activities and coordinate issue resolution.
• Set up equipment, create SOPs for testing protocols.
• Test mechanical, optical, electrical and chemical resistance prototype sample properties and analyze none conformity using statistical software
• Transfer the testing methods to Pilot and production line

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS, MS or Ph.D. equivalent in a scientific or engineering discipline relevant to E ink’s technologies and processes.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the technical industry with direct experience supporting development and commercial quality systems in a Quality Assurance role.
• Practical experience in product quality management, quality and process improvement methodologies, failure investigation tools and techniques.
• Strong understanding and practice experience with product development and transfer (risk management, validation, NPI) and sustaining (change controls, CAPA).
• Operational user knowledge of statistical software JMP, MiniTab
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues and external collaborators.

Preferred skills
• Experience with quality and statistical analysis tools (e.g. Risk Analysis, FMEA, DOE, SPC, Six Sigma)
• Hand on experience to set up reliability experiments.
