Job Summary: The Associate, Instructional Design is a member of a cross-functional development team and is responsible for the analysis, design, and development of online, virtual, and ILT to include hands-on (HOSD) courses. This individual will also be responsible for performing maintenance to current courses. This individual is responsible for developing training materials that:
• Are completed on time and within budget according to project plans and schedules
• Effectively communicate learning objectives
• Are instructionally and grammatically sound
• Are developed in accordance with an approved style guide and SOPs

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs updates, maintenance, and course migration on online, video-based, HOSD, virtual, live, and certification courses.
• Conducts technical research using a variety of sources, which include trade journals, industry publications, original equipment manufacturer (OEM)technical manuals, and interviews with subject matter experts.
• Under the supervision/guidance of a Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Instructional Designer, creates instructional design documents and storyboard presentations that provide a proof-of-concept for teaching to the identified learning objectives.
• Identifies suitable learning activities/scene treatments and interactions that assist with knowledge retention.
• Writes technical content at the desired level for the intended audience.
• Reviews completed work for content accuracy, compliance to organizational design/layout standards, and adherence to adult learning methodologies.
• Under the supervision/guidance of a Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Instructional Designer, keywords content into a digital asset management (DAM) system with accurate and searchable key words.
• Develops quality assessment questions that confirms the learning transfer meets the course objectives.
• Adds course content to presentation tool identified for delivery type (e.g. Captivate, PowerPoint, MS Word).
• Coordinates with a graphics designer and SME to identify visual assets that support technical concepts, including photos and illustrated drawings for a digital asset list (DAL).
• Under supervision/guidance of Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Instructional Designer creates a video/animation plan for each course, which includes the assets required, video scripts, and organizes the resulting video shoots at the I-CAR studio and off-site locations.
• Under the supervision/guidance of a Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Instructional Designer, creates and proofreads audio scripts for eLearning lessons. Works with audio talent to ensure required edits are included in the final scripts.
• Attends live classroom, HOSD, and virtual pilots to evaluate courses for functionality and design.
• Participates in Learning Management System (LMS)/functionality testing of eLearning courses.
• Travels to collision industry events/meetings as needed
• Participates in professional development seminars/conferences

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Instructional Design and/or Adult Education is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Instructional Designer developing Online (web based), Virtual Classroom, or Instructor Led Training (ILT) may be considered in lieu of the B.A. degree. The Team
We are looking for a manager to lead a staff of curriculum developers and technical writers who will design and develop the content for the interactive multimedia technical courses and hands-on instructions for our simulators in topics such as robotics, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Work you'll do
• Manage a professional staff of curriculum developers and technical writers.
• Collaborate with both internal and external partners on the design, development, and delivery exceptional learning solutions.
• Lead editing effort, content writing, development of test questions and supplemental materials, and preparation of scripts for eLearning.
• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, efficiency, and innovation in course design.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Education / Training related Field.
• 5+ years management experience.
• 5+ years of experience in developing instructional materials or delivering instructional content
• 5+ years of experience with end-to-end project/program management experience: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to convey effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all levels.
• Excellent English editorial skills
• Excellent analytical and reasoning skills, sense of urgency.

Preferred Skills:
• Master or PhD
• Previous editing experience.
• Experience supporting learning in a college, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
