ROLE DESCRIPTION
Assist in managing the C&W national Energy Star Portfolio Manager Account, which includes:
• Connecting with property team to ensure Energy Star models nationally are updated
• Educating Property Teams on how to update and maintain ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager models
• Reviewing and inputting energy, water, and waste data into ENEGY STAR Portfolio Manager
• Developing new ENERGY STAR models or updating models with occupancy changes
• Developing applications for Energy Star Certification Submission, and completing on-site Indoor Environmental Quality testing and verification (as trained by PE)
• Managing the submission of energy and water data to local/state entities to meet local ordinance
• Assisting in the development of the Energy Star Partner of the Year Application annually
• Utilize third-party software and platforms as need, including but not limited to:

BER is seeking an experienced professional within the commercial energy efficiency industry to serve as a commercial programs specialist. This individual will primarily support our Energy Modeling (ProServ) and Green Building programs (GreenBuild) divisions by performing programmatic reviews for the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction and LEED programs. This individual will also support our commercial HVAC design & energy modeling services. This is a nationwide position with the ability to work from a home office.
Candidates shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Experience with green building and energy efficiency programs such as ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction, ASHRAE 90.1, LEED for Homes / BD&C, phius (passive house), etc.
• Commercial energy auditing and energy modeling experience using eQuest, COMcheck, OpenStudio, Trane Trace, DesignBuilder, IES, WUFI, etc
• High degree of computer literacy, including fluency in MS Windows, Office, etc.
• Knowledge and experience in working with and performing takeoffs using architectural and engineering plans, details and specifications
• Strong knowledge of building science, HVAC, construction, energy efficiency programs and industry standards
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in customer service and support
Additional preferred qualifications include:
• Manual J, S, D, and T modeling experience and/or ACCA certification, using Wrightsoft and/or Elite
• Significant experience as a HERS Rater or HERS modeler, having rated at least 25 homes using REM/Rate, Ekotrope, EnergyGauge, etc.
• BPI / NATE / LEED / PHIUS / NAHB / IR, etc. certifications
• Architectural or engineering degree or professional certification
• Knowledge and experience with field tools (blower door, duct blaster, IR, etc.), and performing field inspections, data collection and verification
• Current RESNET QAD certification
BER is a national company which conducts the majority of its business in a virtual setting. Therefore, our employees enjoy the ability to work from the comfort of their home office. However, travel may be required for up to one month per year. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
