Job Description:

The School for Graduate Studies (SGS) at SUNY Empire State College seeks an Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology. The successful candidate will have expertise in industrial-organizational psychology and will teach, develop curriculum, and mentor/advise students in this new online program. Central to the faculty role is helping adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds design and complete degrees that meet their personal and professional goals. SUNY Empire faculty provide individualized advising from entry through graduation to students in their overall academic program. The successful candidate will engage in collaborative research, advise students, and work to help students create their capstone project. Maintenance of an active research agenda and service to the college are also expected.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. from an accredited university with a research and teaching focus in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, with specific subdiscipline open.
• Evidence of developing research in the psychological study of work-related topics.

• Interest in curriculum and program development for training of students in industrial-organizational psychology.

Job Description:

SUNY Empire State College is currently seeking applicants for a Director of Assessment and Program Review. Reporting to the Executive Director for Institutional Effectiveness, the Director for Assessment and Program Review (State Title: Staff Associate) manages and facilitates all facets of student learning outcomes assessment processes, supports formal program reviews, and accreditation activities. The Director supports the Provost and Executive Director in developing and executing a strategic vision and plan for assessment, program review, and student learning improvement, and the maturation of an assessment culture at the College. Serving as collaborator and project manager, the individual works with faculty, leadership, and staff in developing assessment and review activities that are meaningful, empirical, and time and cost effective, improving learning experiences and programmatic effectiveness.

The position is situated in within the College's office of Decision Support and demands the ability to solve complex problems by gathering data, reasoning logically, drawing valid conclusions, and writing clear and concise reports. The individual will be a collaborative, creative, independent problem-solver, and have ability to work with diverse faculty and staff from multiple disciplines and functions. Above all, the Director will be committed to improving student and institutional outcomes related to student learning and success, will possess a deep understanding of accreditation requirements, and collaborate with others to decide how to best achieve continuous and sustainable improvement.

Specific duties include:
• Develop and manage assessment and program review operations, workflows, processes, data collection, schedules, and communication.
• Work collaboratively with faculty and administrators across the college in the planning and development of sound assessment initiatives yielding measurable outcomes.
• Implementing comprehensive approaches to assess educational units and program level student learning outcomes.
• Prepare timely, professional reports (oral and written) and presentation materials based on findings and disseminate information internally and/or for external reporting.
• Design and execute strategies to promulgate a culture of assessment utilizing strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Develop and maintain thorough, organized documentation and detail to support current and future assessment and accreditation needs.
• Build and/or maintain an accessible site to document the assessment efforts of the college and an evidence repository for accreditation efforts.
• Research and develop or acquire assessment tools and evaluation instruments (e.g., rubrics) that include attention to assessment of diversity and inclusion practices in teaching and learning.
• Develop training materials and provide professional development workshops and webinars regarding assessment and program review for faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
• Work with office of the Provost and the accreditation liaison officer to ensure compliance with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education regarding policies and standards of accreditation, etc.
• Work across divisions to support assessment of institutional effectiveness.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in relevant field such as educational assessment, research and measurement, social sciences, or other related disciplines.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the assessment of learning outcomes in higher education, accreditation, and/or curricula development.
• Demonstrated competence with quantitative and qualitative methods and practices in higher education.
• Demonstrated competence with data collection and analysis and generating written summaries, reports, and presentation materials.
• Experience with institutional and/or specialized accreditation standards.
• Experience with student learning outcomes assessment and formal assessment processes including assessment design, and evaluation methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in related field.
• Proficiency with statistical packages (such as SPSS, SAS).
• Experience developing and delivering professional development related to assessment for faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Higher education teaching experience.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities in the terrestrial biology field, including contract management and research

The Senior Consulting Scientist also manages the environmental portion of multiple complex, high risk, or very large engineering, construction,

Represent the company in agency/stakeholder interactions and negotiations to best meet the goals and objectives of PG&E including

As the technical subject matter expert, and as a member of a multidisciplinary project team, develop scope, schedule, and budget

for the biological component of all assigned licensing and permitting work; obtain business partner approvals before work begins

Ensure that cost and schedule updates for assigned projects and programs are provided to Business Partners at an agreed upon

interval.

Inform business partners of potential cost over /under runs and identify any potential schedule delays as early as possible

Provide strategic permitting and licensing guidance to business partners and contractors

Develop specific project study plans for cost effectiveness

Plan and manage implementation of studies and assessments associated with specific biological work scopes in support of license

compliance, permit compliance and as may be necessary for project planning; ensure these meet current technical standards

Provide technical expertise on PG&E projects for responses to agency/NGO comments or requests for data

Manage and provide technical oversight to contractors

Responsible for natural resource based interaction with regulatory agencies and for providing oversight of other project participants that

may interact with these agencies on natural resource issues.

Ensure a consistent approach by project teams, one that is rooted in current regulatory law and policies and that is also consistent with

PG&E s goal of being a leader in the environmental arena,

Provide technical and contract administration oversight for assigned environmental workload

Ensure that all schedule commitments and key program deliverables are met on or before the planned due dates

• Develops specific project study plans for cost effectiveness.
• Ensures that cost and schedule updates for assigned projects and programs are provided to Business Partners at an agreed upon interval.
• Ensures that strategically managed workload (including in-house and contract labor) is tracked and reported monthly.
• Informs business partners of potential cost over /under runs and identify any potential schedule delays as early as possible.
• Oversees natural resource based interaction with regulatory agencies and for providing oversight of other project participants that may interact with these agencies.
• Plans and manages implementation of studies and assessments associated with specific biological work scopes in support of license compliance, permit compliance and as may be necessary for project planning; ensure these meet current technical standards.
• Plans and schedule all studies to ensure that project specific regulatory requirements are met.
• Provides strategic permitting and licensing guidance to business partners and contractors.
• Provides technical expertise on PG&E projects for responses to agency/NGO comments or requests for data.
• Represents the company in agency/stakeholder interactions and negotiations to best meet the goals and objectives of PG&E including full compliance with both the letter and intent of all state and federal natural resource laws.
• Develop contractor technical scope of work and submit requests for proposals, conduct proposal evaluations and select successful bidder.
• Ensures that all schedule commitments and key program deliverables are met on or before the planned due dates
• Ensures a consistent approach by project teams, one that is rooted in current regulatory law and policies and that is also consistent with PG&E s goal of being a leader in the environmental arena.
• Ensures that diversity spend requirements and practices are followed.
• Manages a natural resource based program or segment of a business partner s workload by region or type of work on behalf of the department; serves as a program manager for that segment of the workload providing direct oversight for the management of the program.
• Ensures that work scope, schedule and cost are accurately defined and approved by the business partner before work proceeds on the project.

Qualifications

Minimum
• Advanced degree (MA, MS, or PhD) in Natural Resources, Botany, Biology, Ecology, or related sciences.
• 15
years relevant experience (or less if employee consistently demonstrates consulting level performance and has a minimum of 5 years as a Senior).
• Experience as technical lead on multiple large and complex Company projects that are high profile in nature and carry political or other risks for the Company.
• Valid driver s license required.
