They will also collaborate with other units, as appropriate, in the development and implementation of communications activities. This position requires excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various audiences. This is a full-time hybrid role with a minimum of two required days at Excelsior's home office of 7 Columbia Circle, Albany, NY, with the remainder of the days worked from home.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with chief communications officer to support the development and execution of comprehensive communications strategies and campaigns.
• Develop a range of communications content, including talking points, draft emails, short scripts, synopsis or blog posts, and other speaking or writing opportunities.
• Review and edit communications including social media copy for factual accuracy, AP style, and alignment with goals.
• Oversee the Workfront projects for the Communications team.
• Meet regularly with academic leadership to support communication to faculty.
• Manage the internal communications calendar.
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Daily Digest including review, edit, and post submissions to the Daily Digest and the internal calendar.
• Support updating of the website, including media kit, subject matter experts, faculty and staff published works page, and bios.
• Support academic thought leadership.

• Develop project plans and associated documents including communication plans to effectively convey project expectations to PLA stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the academic deans, faculty and other key constituencies to review requests for approval of credits for various prior learning experiences to ensure that the appropriate reviews and assessments are completed.
• Conduct training sessions for faculty, advisors and admissions staff to assist them in understanding their roles in the PLA process.
• Develop policies and procedures for the assessment of training/credentials for potential college-level credits.
• Explain the process for requesting credit for prior learning with employers, government agencies, and other organizations.
• Serve as the single-point-of-contact for any questions regarding the project schedule, scope or resources to answer questions related to PLA projects.
• Manage PLA projects, including information on credits awarded, successful applications, methods used to award credit, and prepare project status reports.
• Maintain and update all print and electronic media regarding current practices, policies and procedures regarding the awarding of credit for prior learning and create new materials.

• Research state and federal regulations, campus policies, accreditation standards, and university best practices to assist in the development of nursing organizational policies. Keep current with and disseminate information regarding nursing programmatic accreditation.
• Evaluate organizational processes and determines action(s) needed by work units to be compliant with standards. Identify and prioritize nursing risk areas and implement programs, processes, and/or actions specifically designed to reduce organizational risk and liability.
• Ensure aspects of school/college follow best practices complying with nursing accreditation standards, serve as a resource for faculty and staff for training on nursing accreditation initiatives, and communicate regularly to promote awareness of accreditation-related activities encouraging institutions-wide involvement.
• Work with school/college faculty, Department Chairs, Deans, and the Associate Vice Provost on all accreditation reporting and related matters.
• Work collaboratively within the college and across the university to prepare required accreditation reports and host scheduled accreditation site visits.
• Maintain files of accreditation status, schedules, documents and correspondence from nursing regulatory and accreditation bodies (programmatic, state, etc.).
• Support the ongoing and timely collection, analysis, and use of data to support accreditation and regulatory needs.
• Strategically manage all regulatory requirements and ensure accreditation and state compliance within the school of Nursing. Coordinate institutional assessment and evaluation.
• Support reporting processes and provide educational assessment and program review expertise to the nursing programs.
• Ensure the use of quality data (assessment, program review, accreditation and regulatory requirements, industry information) to inform program development, maintenance, and improvement.
• Support curriculum development, modification, and approval for purposes of quality assurance.
• Monitor records of new courses, new programs, and course or program changes to submit to respective agencies and external entities (state boards, programmatic accreditor, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree in related field from an accredited college or University
• At least three years of related experience in a health care environment in regulatory, compliance, quality assurance, accreditation, safety, and/or risk management capacity.
• Knowledge of regional, national/federal, state, and specialized postsecondary accreditation standards, practices, and goals related to nursing programs.
• Experience engaging in assessment and data-informed continuous improvement work.Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of integrated program planning, development, and administration within a higher education institutional environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse members of the college community including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and accreditors.
• Demonstrated ability for effective organizational skills and ability to connect to the institutional strategy while displaying attention to detail.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of data systems, definitions, and procedures.

Serving under the Associate Provost of Accreditation and Quality Improvement, the Director - Nursing Accreditation works with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences to provide leadership and expertise to support accreditation and regulatory-related work. This position is a dedicated collaborator with the school on behalf of the Provost Office to project manage quality... assurance-related activity and efforts to ensure compliant, accredited, and quality nursing programs in relation to internal and external standards. This position is based out of the university’s home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
