Auditors are given autonomy and responsibility to manage their workloads and work both independently and as a team to complete projects. One day you may be in the field working with a client onsite, the next in the office collaborating with teammates and later meeting clients virtually from your home. Requirements

Required Experience and Education

“FASB” or “Commercial” and/or “Not-for-Profit” experience is desired, as is experience in Yellow Book and Single Audits. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field with 0-3 years in relevant position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferable to have met the 150 hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepares audit workpapers and conducts audit research as needed
• Prepares a variety of detailed accounting and statistical functions related to auditing
• Works closely with audit seniors to effectively manage responsibilities on audit engagements
• Develops an understanding of the audit client’s industry and marketplace
• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service delivery
• Prepares work papers that are organized, neat, and supported by conclusions
• Compiles raw data into trial balance, including recapping cash receipts and disbursements
• Uses reference materials in researching auditing issues
• Maintains accurate time and expense records to ensure proper billing of clients
• Complies with relevant continuing professional education requirements
• Enhances the firm image by demonstrating “executive presence”. This means instilling confidence in those you meet by manner, spoken and written word and professional appearance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Working Environment

Our offices are open from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through tax season and close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season. Additional hours are required. There may be occasional overnight travel out-of-town.

Take responsibility for analysis of technical accounting issues and prepare drafts of analyses. Work with the business to gather the required data for analysis. Take the lead on specific initiatives including: purchase accounting; review of leases; review of recoverability of goodwill. Active participant in special projects as they arise. Coordinating with Business Units to identify and resolve accounting issues. Assist in the review of SEC Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and other required filings for the Company (including review of Proxy and drafting 11-K). On a monthly basis, review regional and corporate journal entries including the share-based compensation calculation. Over the next year or so focus will be on accounting for a large acquisition, assisting with refresh of accounting policies, and assisting with the Finance Transformation project. Work closely with the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting and Accounting Policy as well as the Manager of Financial Reporting and the Manager of Internal Controls/S-OX. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical accounting research, implementation & documentation
• 60% Special Projects
• 10% Consolidation support
• 10% Reporting (internal and external) support
• 20% REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Accounting or Finance. A CPA with 3 to 5 years of experience in either public accounting or a mix of public/private experience. Previous experience working in accounting research. Candidate must have a full understanding of current U.S. GAAP and FASB technical pronouncements. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to communicate, discuss issues, and work directly with senior management. Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills are required. Active CPA license is mandatory
