Work closely with leadership to plan FEE's annual contributions revenue; Identify opportunities, weaknesses to minimize, and changes the organization has to adopt to be more successful in attracting new donors. On the tactical level, the Director of Development will:
Originate and execute the plan to raise necessary annual revenue for FEE; Execute FEE's three-year Groundswell capital campaign; Manage a team of Development managers/associates; Manage services from in-house teams; Manage services from Development contractors and consultants; Develop and improve all Development processes, including gift solicitation and recognition, data logging, revenue reconciliation, meeting scheduling, proposals, and more; Cultivate a portfolio of select major donors, both individuals and foundations. On the interpersonal level, the Director of Development will:
Attend major donor and prospect meetings, relevant conferences, and gatherings; Prepare reports for, attend, and present at Board of Trustees meetings; Regularly update staff directors and staff about the state of revenue, and provide advice and guidance regarding the intent of specific donors and FEE's donor community in general. Additionally, the Director of Development will:
Become a subject-matter expert on all of FEE's products, functions, and stakeholders; Communicate with other staff directors to optimize FEE donor experiences with new and current FEE products, including email and direct mail correspondence, newsletters, FEE.org webpages, and social medial; Participate in major deliberations and decisions concerning FEE.
