What you are good at The Director of Financial Content is an individual contributor who leads financial content strategy, content development and writing for Schwab Community Services. Creating annual and quarterly editorial plans and a calendar that supports the organization's priorities. Overseeing the development of all financial education content for Schwab Community Services and Charles Schwab Foundation. This includes:
Weekly nationally syndicated Ask Carrie personal finance columns, Content for schwabmoneywise.com A quarterly article for On Investing magazine Long-form social media content Video scripts Content for additional publications both inside and outside of Schwab Writing opinion pieces and advocacy content to advance financial literacy. Mapping and coordinating content across several editorial and publishing channels. Developing business-related and leadership content for LinkedIn and other industry platforms. Exploring new opportunities for expanding SCS content syndication and distribution. Advancing special editorial projects to support SCS mission to promote financial literacy nationwide. Collaborating with colleagues in the Foundation to develop financial literacy content for distribution with nonprofit partners. Acting as financial planning and personal finance subject matter expert for Schwab Community Services team. Supporting internal Schwab business partners and corporate initiatives to build trust and enhance scale on new and existing products and services. Working with Compliance and Schwab Center for Financial Research as technical editor to ensure all content is consistent with Schwab's regulator standards and advice guidelines. What you have Experience as a financial writer or journalist targeting consumers. Bachelor's degree; valid and active Series 7 license preferred; CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP ) certification preferred. 10-
years' experience in personal finance and financial writing; experience in corporate communications preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple understandable terms. Strong interpersonal skills, desire to build relationships and collaborate with corporate colleagues in SCFR, marketing, PR, and other enterprises. Strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously in a very fast-paced environment. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to excel in a highly collaborative team environment. The ability to be flexible and shift gears in response to changing business situations. A positive, can-do attitude. Strong editorial skills including proofreading, copyediting, and strategic planning.
