The Technical Support Intern supports the Support Team with their day-to-day activities and special project(s). This internship will give the intern valuable, real-world experience, as well as providing assistance to the Support Team. The intern will gain exposure to various technical support functions. The intern will benefit from mentoring, coaching and side-by-side work with knowledgeable and experienced experts in the field.

What You Will Do:
• To take technical support cases that relate to administration, set-up, provisioning and access to FireEye portal accounts
• Learn about security rules and apply them to assist in security content tickets. In addition, cases in technical reproductions, research, and fact finding
• Take on specific projects to improve the efficiency of the operation, i.e. - elastic search, knowledge-based articles, process workflows, new hire training, case deflection, etc.
• Learn FireEye products and Support processes and workflows to help with technical support cases
• Gather new ideas and perspectives on the operations of Customer Support from an academic and fresh point of view

Qualifications

Requirements:
• Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems or other related field
• Experience with Linux, Windows, Networking, Database and Security
• Fundamental understanding of an operating system; for example, understands job control, soft and hard links or shortcuts, distinctions between the kernel and the user environment
• Strong knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP etc and technologies such as switches and routers

Additional Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Enjoys problem solving and displays an eagerness to learn new technologies/skills
