General Information

DESCRIPTION

This position also provides training to districts to conduct validation studies, educational plant surveys and to document the determination of future needs. The position provides technical assistance with the Educational Facilities Information System and the Florida Inventory of School Houses for the 67 school districts, the developmental lab schools and the Florida School of the Deaf and the Blind. This position also provides review and validation of surveys prepared or amended by the 28 college boards.
This position is expected to perform these duties with a minimum of direct supervision:
PROGRAM AREA RESPONSIBILITIES
Validation and Review
Validation includes reviewing inventory data as submitted to the department. Provide review and inspection of student stations, net square footage, inventory changed from satisfactory to unsatisfactory and from unsatisfactory to satisfactory. Compare new school inventory allocations, review cost projections for conformity with cost limits, compare capital outlay full time equivalent with enrollment projections with the department’s projections.
Review facilities lists to verify that student stations and auxiliary facility space allocation do not exceed limits. Review and confirm the application of uniform facility utilization factors, utilize the documentation of programs offered per site. Confirm the needs for the adult and vocational education program apply with needs documented by the department and confirm the assignment of full time student stations to all space except auxiliary.
Additional Duties
Assist with the development and maintenance of a community college facilities inventory.
Assist with the development of five-year educational plant surveys and supplemental surveys.
Provide facilities related support to other units of the Department of Education.
Review bonded projects to ensure that they meet established guidelines.
Review capital expenditure request.
Provide other support, as needed, regarding educational facilities.
Assist with the development of rules and procedures, as may be required pursuant to functions of the office.
Assist with the development and review of annual five-year construction work plans.
Complete assigned special projects.
Provide facilities inventory validations and inventory validation training as required.
Performs other related duties.

DESCRIPTION

This position also provides training to districts to conduct validation studies, educational plant surveys and to document the determination of future needs. The position provides technical assistance with the Educational Facilities Information System and the Florida Inventory of School Houses for the 67 school districts, the developmental lab schools and the Florida School of the Deaf and the Blind. This position also provides review and validation of surveys prepared or amended by the 28 college boards.
This position is expected to perform these duties with a minimum of direct supervision:
PROGRAM AREA RESPONSIBILITIES
Validation and Review
Validation includes reviewing inventory data as submitted to the department. Provide review and inspection of student stations, net square footage, inventory changed from satisfactory to unsatisfactory and from unsatisfactory to satisfactory. Compare new school inventory allocations, review cost projections for conformity with cost limits, compare capital outlay full time equivalent with enrollment projections with the department’s projections.
Review facilities lists to verify that student stations and auxiliary facility space allocation do not exceed limits. Review and confirm the application of uniform facility utilization factors, utilize the documentation of programs offered per site. Confirm the needs for the adult and vocational education program apply with needs documented by the department and confirm the assignment of full time student stations to all space except auxiliary.
Additional Duties
Assist with the development and maintenance of a community college facilities inventory.
Assist with the development of five-year educational plant surveys and supplemental surveys.
Provide facilities related support to other units of the Department of Education.
Review bonded projects to ensure that they meet established guidelines.
Review capital expenditure request.
Provide other support, as needed, regarding educational facilities.
Assist with the development of rules and procedures, as may be required pursuant to functions of the office.
Assist with the development and review of annual five-year construction work plans.
Complete assigned special projects.
Provide facilities inventory validations and inventory validation training as required.
Performs other related duties.
