A Neighborhood Development Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department. The Neighborhood Services Department is seeking a qualified candidate for its Housing and Neighborhood Development division. The Neighborhood Development & Revitalization division manages several federal grants including HOME, CDBG, ESG and HOPWA.

This position is not a remote opportunity and is physically located at 908 Monroe St. Ft. Worth, TX, 76102. Work hours will be 8am - 5pm with some nights and weekends required to attend community meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or Real Estate or related field
• Three (3) years of experience with federal grants, state housing tax credits, real estate development such as multifamily housing, project management, and/or community development or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Groups that the Management Trainee may be placed into include:
• Treasury and Risk Management – oversees all cash management, debt offerings, and parent dividends, and manages insurance policies, vendors, and all other components for managing risk.
• Production Accounting – Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Revenue Billing.
• Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting – Capital Investment Accounting, General Accounting, External Reporting.

• Budgets – oversees the budgets for Engineering, Mechanical, Transportation, Technology Services and Staff.

Responsibilities

Prepare, sweep, inspect and cleans trailer(s) before loading freight. Use safe lifting techniques to properly load and unload freight. Select and use proper freight handling equipment to load and unload freight. Such equipment may include forklifts with appropriate hardware, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, rollers, and any other available equipment to move, load, arrange, rearrange, and unload freight. Plan cube utilization and proper weight distribution when loading freight. Count and inspect the condition of freight, documenting any shortages or damage. Review freight bills for special instructions. Check manifests for existing exceptions and check the label and the destination code on manifests against freight bills. Check for special instructions, weight distributions on headloads, and check headloads against the freight bills when loading freight. Verify the hazardous material product description, determine any discrepancies in the paperwork, and verify proper placarding when loading hazardous material. Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications

For this role, we prefer you have a High School Diploma or GED. You must have the ability to satisfactorily pass a background check and an alcohol and drug test.
