Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle. JOB DESCRIPTION WNYW FOX 5 /WWOR is looking for a Studio /Control room Technician to join our award winning team! Candidates should have experience with automation, Audio operator, robotics, chyron/graphics, floor directing, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations. We are looking for individuals who know how to deliver high quality newscasts, have a passion for journalism, and thrive in the technical news production environment. Must be comfortable operating in fast-paced, live production control rooms and studios. JOB HIGHLIGHTS Candidate will fill a variety of production roles. Perform functions including, but not limited to, technical director/automation, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera, chyron/graphics and floor director. Must have a solid understanding of live production elements, specifically news production, and be able to operate live broadcast equipment. Will work in control room environment. Will think critically under pressure while broadcasting within strict time constraints. Work as cohesive team. Interact professionally and respectfully with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, control room/master control, and news environment in a medium to major size market. Excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills – systems, equipment, software, etc. Friendly and collaborative spirit. Positive attitude. Good judgement Must be able to sit and stand for an extended period of time. Must be able to reach overhead, bend, squat and kneel. WNWY/WWOR is a 24/7 operation. Flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings, weekends, as well as work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment. Must be able to work overtime, holidays and varied hours. Performs other duties as assigned. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $39.45-44.33 per hour for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. JOB DESCRIPTION Operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, fire prevention equipment including fire and house pumps, standpipes, sprinkler systems, knowledge of Class E fire alarm system, control panel and portable fire extinguishers, compressor banks and cooling tower operations. Must have knowledge of water treatment procedures for all closed loop and house water systems. Must be I.U.O.E. Local 30 member; individual must be certified as an Operating Engineer possessing both Refrigeration and CFC Licenses; must have either a Fire Safety or Deputy Fire Safety Director certificate issued by the FDNY and standpipe, sprinkler certificates; other FDNY certificates a plus; must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC plant operations and plumbing experience; must be able to work flexible hours and various shifts.
