FreshDirect is offering up to 4 weeks of paid training for prospective van and truck drivers. Training classes are taught by veteran instructors at our FreshDirect Jr Driving program. Through our training program, you will not only learn how to drive a truck, but also understand the dos and don'ts in terms of working on the transportation field. The more you know before going into your driver career, the easier it is going to be to transitioning into your position. This 2-4 week training will be at our BRONX location upon graduation of the program you will placed with a Driver Mentor for a 2-week training in the Bronx as well. After the 2-week Mentorship you will be a driver in our Bronx location.
Qualifications:
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have a minimum of 6 months recent driving experience (truck or van experienced preferred).
• Must be actively driving
• Must have 1 year of customer service experience
• Ability to clearly communicate and read in English
• Must be able to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and Holidays
• Must be able to work a flexible shift (mornings and/or evenings)
• Ability to complete all basic and recurring training
• Must be able to deliver orders up to 50 lbs in weight to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time [this may include walking up or down several flights of stairs]
• Must be comfortable interacting with customers
• Must have a strong commitment to customer service and safety
• Ability to utilize smartphones for two-way communication with our Operations Team
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently
• Ability to navigate a route successfully & independently
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture
Motor Vehicle Record Requirements:
• Must have a valid NY, NJ, CT, MD, DE, VA, DC or PA driver license
• 8 points or less on a motor vehicle report
• No suspensions within the past 12 months and no more than 1 suspension in the past 3 years
• No more than 1 accident in the past three years
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years

The position will liaise with other HR teams in recruiting, compliance/HRIS, benefits, leave of absence, and learning and development to provide support to... management level and hourly employees. The position will also be responsible handling employee relations concerns and managing the relationship between the employee's labor union and management. This includes grievance management and consistent adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
The ideal candidate should enjoy collaborating, listening, and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the company. The candidate should be ambitious and have a drive to implement change and improve the business.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day to day guidance of HR policies and practices.
• Drive the HR objectives and projects for their organization including, but not limited to, performance evaluations, employee trainings, employee compliance, compensation planning, staffing, career development, and onboarding/offboarding.
• Coach and lead management through tools and practices that improve employee performance and morale.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Partner with the legal department as necessary.
• Ensure management and employees are following the terms and conditions defined in the collective bargaining agreement. Serve as the expert for the collective bargaining agreement.
• Manage employee/union grievances that arise in their organization.
• Support employees who need help with benefits, conflicts with management/co-workers, training, and other inquiries.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels of personnel. Collaborate with numerous stakeholders to improve HR and business processes and systems.
• Analyze employee data in excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.) to drive and influence decision making in their organization.
• Create and present PowerPoints to communicate and drive HR objectives in their organization.
• Serve as the point person for all things related to HR in their organization.
Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or similar roles.
• Competent in HRIS platforms such as Kronos or SAP Success Factors.
• Experience with labor unions, collective bargaining agreements, and grievances.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with compensation planning, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
• Experience in conducting and documenting investigations into employee allegations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws and practices.
• Ability to build positive and productive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Skilled in problem-solving and using data to drive to decisions.
• Ability to work independently and drive their objectives to completion with little oversight.
• Comfortable with change and continuous improvement.
• Self-Starter that sets and meets deadlines.
• Organized and proactive in achieving and measuring goals.
