In this critical support role, no task is too small. We are all “Swiss Army Knives,” and your contributions will span nearly all aspects of the GeekWire business and events team. We are... looking for a detail-oriented person who is comfortable multitasking in the delivery of impactful sponsored content, advertising proposals, surveys and other material directly related to GeekWire’s business operations.

High Level Goals:
• Lead execution of sponsored initiatives, including projects tied to GeekWire Studios, the content production arm of GeekWire that produces on-location videos, podcasts and written material on behalf of brands.
• Add creativity and continuity to sales and marketing materials.
• Act as content producer and showrunner for GeekWire events.
• Support GeekWire’s event director, assisting with script writing, registration, customer support, marketing and other functions.
• Assist GeekWire’s sales and marketing chief.
• Demonstrate GeekWire’s core values (see below).

Key responsibilities:
• Project manage revenue-based activations through GeekWire Studios, oversee a budget, manage on-air talent, schedule, communicate with clients, produce marketing materials.
• Develop scripts and act as showrunner for GeekWire events, including Awards, Summit and Gala.
• Support marketing, outreach, sponsorship coordination of GeekWire events.
• Join sales calls and create sponsor decks.
• Oversee events when event director is unavailable
• Develop and maintain GeekWire’s sales and marketing materials.
• Create and distribute GeekWire reader surveys, working alongside GeekWire editorial and business teams.
• Assist in the management of annual sponsor relationships.
• Edit and produce audio and video content.
• Promote podcasts, studios, underwritten channels, etc.
• Deliver high-level customer service at every turn.
• Look for and implement more efficient business processes.
• Evangelize GeekWire in the community.
• Participate in weekly team calls (Pipeline/Tuesdays and Events/Thursdays)

Key technical skills:
• Strong knowledge of WordPress, SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, MailChimp, Canva and social media platforms. Video and audio editing experience is an added plus.

This is a full-time role set at 40 hours per week. Employment with GeekWire is at will. GeekWire provides full time employees comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, the ability to participate in a 401k, and a 401k match. The salary range for this role is between $63,000-$67,000 per year.

You will be responsible for:
• All things revenue. The project manager is responsible for developing opportunities for GeekWire’s sellers to generate revenue. The role makes sure that advertisers and sponsors receive top-notch customer service and extreme value. You’ll work with the business team to create marketing and sales materials with creativity and smarts. You will assist in executing GeekWire’s revenue-based activations, managing projects from soup to nuts.
• GeekWire Studios. Our sponsored content arm is set for growth. You’ll guide our sponsored programs with creativity. Among the tasks: managing a checklist, corresponding with stakeholders, writing scripts, executing promotional plans and overseeing the P&L to make sure activations are run in a profitable manner. You’ll help develop new revenue opportunities and materials that sellers will use to market GeekWire Studios. Your work will help unlock new revenue sources, creating integrated programs that stretch across business units.
• Event support. You’ll support the ad operations and events team to make sure GeekWire is operating effectively. You will assist with the event content, helping with the flow and management of all things stage related, ranging from the script to show management to production team liaison. In addition, for smaller scale events you may be called upon to act as the event manager.
• Brand Ambassador. You will serve as a brand ambassador for GeekWire, educating and informing the community about the power of our audience. As an integral member of the business team, you will attend GeekWire’s events and team functions. You’ll also cultivate ideas for GeekWire to grow audience and revenue.

You will work on the business team alongside other members to ensure GeekWire’s advertisers and sponsors receive the highest-quality service.
