Summary:
• The Kansas City Plant is a U. S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T)
• Our primary business is to manufacture sophisticated mechanical, electronic and engineered-material components for our nation's defense system

• FM&T’s Electrical Cable Engineering department is seeking to fill an Electrical Engineer II position to support the project engineer for a program in electrical cables

Seeking a strong Electrical & Instrument Draftsman with Oil & Gas and/or refining experience. This position is for a mid-level to upper level designer working directly with discipline engineers, technicians and senior designers to create electrical and instrument installation drawings and deliverables meeting client design requirements, and schedule. This position requires strong skills working AutoCad Release 17 and higher. Additionally, the incumbent should be familiar with materials and equipment associated with, petrochemical, refineries, oil and gas pipelines and associated facilities including but not limited to compressor stations, pump stations, mainline valve sites, regulator, meter stations and storage facilities and terminals.

Responsibilities will include the following:
• Familiarity with applicable codes such as NFPA 70, 70E, API RP 500, etc.
• Preparation of various electrical calculations, voltage drop, conduit fill, and cable tray fill.
• Have a complete understanding of facility requirements including one-line diagrams, area classifications, control schematics, interconnect wiring diagrams, plans, details and cable schedules.
• Preparation of E/I design drawings using AutoCad Release 17 and higher.
• Cadworx 3D Modeling experience preferred.
• Review engineering drawings and designs.
• Ensures commitments are fulfilled on time to company and customer specifications.
• Report on variances to job scope and recommends appropriate action to project manager.
• Gather field data and evaluate existing facilities along with research of client standards and specifications, to accomplish project execution.
• Performs work which involves conventional design and engineering practices, but may include a variety of complex design requirements.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma and Technical college degree preferred, but degree not required.

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum experience required is 8 years. 2 years field experience preferred, but not required.
• Must have extensive experience using AutoCad, CadWorx, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Outlook.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Requires excellent oral communication skills in English.
• Must be able to clearly communicate in speech and writing to other team members and client personnel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Strong Mathematical skills required.

REASONING ABILITY:
• Able to identify CAD drafting problems and develop solutions.
• Able to make decisions on specific project items which will promote the achievement of overall project objectives.
• Ability to review engineers marks and follow through with the design intent.
• Able to view problems from many different sides to develop the best overall solution.
