The Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) is a public/private partnership that provides curriculum and study tour experiences relevant to contemporary Germany for specific multiplier groups, specifically social studies and STEM educators in the United States and Canada as well as workforce development professionals interested in the German apprenticeship model. The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach, promoting knowledge of the German language abroad and fostering international cultural cooperation.
Responsibilities:
Management of the Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP), including
· Strategy development to further grow the program, secure additional funding, and expand TOP to include additional focus areas
· Maintaining existing partnerships and development of new corporate partnerships and funding opportunities
· Board relations: coordination between the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, the Goethe-Institut and TOP corporate partners
· Management and supervision of the TOP team
· Management of internal and external communication and marketing, including annual reporting and performance monitoring to each and all affiliated partners
· Budgetary planning, monitoring, and reporting
· Strengthening of transatlantic relations in a public/private partnership context
· Reporting to and cooperating with the Director of Language Programs Goethe-Institut North America
Requirements:
· Native speaker level in both German and English
· University degree (preferably MBA/MA/MS or higher) in the field of management, business, international affairs, or education policy
· Demonstrated project management and experience (5+ years)
· Leadership experience (5+ years) with an emphasis on teamwork
· Demonstrated ability for decision-making, problem-solving and prioritization
· Budgeting and financial management, strong negotiation skills and fundraising experience
· Strong communication skills and excellent networking skills; ability to present complex issues to board members / senior management
· Comprehensive knowledge of current issues in contemporary Germany; K-12 education at the school/district level; German-style apprenticeship models (VET, CTE) and their significance to US federal, state, and community college workforce development
· Team player; ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
· Willingness for flexible hours and occasional travel for business or training purposes
· Thorough experience with MS Office, MS Teams, MS SharePoint
The starting salary for this full-time position is $6390 per month. Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
