Principal teaching responsibilities will include courses such as financial management, personal finance , investments, risk management and insurance, and finance electives related to the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester.
Additional faculty responsibilities include advising students, service on college committees, and academic research or active engagement in the practice of finance.

This position is accountable for the development, coordination and delivery of a student activity program that meets the needs of all students on campus. The director is responsible for supporting student clubs and organizations in the effective and efficient use of resources. The Director is also responsible for ensuring advisors are supported in their work with student clubs and organizations and serves as the advisor to the Campus Events Council (CEC) and the Gordon College Student Association (GCSA). Work is performed under minimal supervision.
Description of Duties and Tasks:

1. Develop and extend the program of student activities across campus, providing opportunities for students to connect and have fun through participation in weekly events that support their personal, social, and emotional development.

As an employee of Gordon State College, the CA is expected to abide by and uphold the Gordon State College Student Code of Conduct, Guide to Highlander Living, Housing and Residence Life policies and procedures, and civil law.
Duties
Administrative
• Training: Attend and participate in training workshops, in-service sessions and staff meetings to further develop competencies in meeting the needs and challenges of a residential environment.
• Duty: Participate in the duty rotation schedule as scheduled by Resident Directors. Duty is daily, including scheduled weekends. Assist with Open House Events, Orientation Events, Admissions/Housing Tours.
• Reports and Paperwork: Complete forms and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Emergency response: Provide emergency support as trained or directed. Address and report issues of risk or safety appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Room inspection: Inspect rooms and common areas as scheduled during Health and Safety inspections and/or rounds to ensure that they are being kept reasonably clean and safe and that no damage has occurred to College property.
• Check in/Check out: Inspect rooms and apartments for damages before and during resident move-in/out of the room and complete appropriate forms. Community Assistants must participate in building opening and closing responsibilities until the final date of employment/semester.
• Staff mail: Check staff email daily for information and notices.
• Office/Room hours: Post Open Room Hours in highly visible places such as the hallway bulletin boards and assigned room doors so as to inform residents of availability and location.
Community Building
• Programming: Plan, organize, and inform and conduct programming/activities that help students improve interpersonal, academic, and social skills, develop a sense of community on a residence hall/floor, educate and inform students, involve students in their own learning, provide an outlet for the release of emotion and promote wellness.
• Policy Enforcement: Know the Gordon State College Student Code of Conduct, Guide to Highlander Living, and Housing and Residence Life policies and procedures well enough to confront and report alleged violations as well as possible consequences resulting from violations of stated policies and procedures.
• Resident knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the residents and build relationships with residents.
• Security: Assist in the security of the residence halls by addressing safety and security violations directly.
• Environment: Encourage and maintain an environment and atmosphere conducive to study. Enhance the academic program by assisting with a study environment.
• Advisor and Counselor: Advise and properly direct residents both individually and in groups concerning academic, social, and personal issues.

• Academics: Maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.0 or higher (2.5 preferred) on all college work.
• Policies: Adhere to and abide by Residence Hall policies, the Gordon State College Student Code of Conduct, Guide to Highlander Living, CDC/USG pandemic guidelines and civil law.
• Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude toward the College and the Housing and Residence Life Office. Take an active, constructive role in making changes for the betterment of the Office of Housing and Residence Life and Gordon State College.

Duties
Administrative
• Training: Attend and participate in training workshops, in-service sessions and staff meetings to further develop competencies in meeting the needs and challenges of a residential environment.
• Duty: Participate in the duty rotation schedule as scheduled by Resident Directors. Duty is daily, including scheduled weekends. Assist with Open House Events, Orientation Events, Admissions/Housing Tours.
• Reports and Paperwork: Complete forms and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Emergency response: Provide emergency support as trained or directed. Address and report issues of risk or safety appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Room inspection: Inspect rooms and common areas as scheduled during Health and Safety inspections and/or rounds to ensure that they are being kept reasonably clean and safe and that no damage has occurred to College property.
• Check in/Check out: Inspect rooms and apartments for damages before and during resident move-in/out of the room and complete appropriate forms. Community Assistants must participate in building opening and closing responsibilities until the final date of employment/semester.
• Staff mail: Check staff email daily for information and notices.
• Office/Room hours: Post Open Room Hours in highly visible places such as the hallway bulletin boards and assigned room doors so as to inform residents of availability and location.
Community Building
• Programming: Plan, organize, and inform and conduct programming/activities that help students improve interpersonal, academic, and social skills, develop a sense of community on a residence hall/floor, educate and inform students, involve students in their own learning, provide an outlet for the release of emotion and promote wellness.
• Policy Enforcement: Know the Gordon State College Student Code of Conduct, Guide to Highlander Living, and Housing and Residence Life policies and procedures well enough to confront and report alleged violations as well as possible consequences resulting from violations of stated policies and procedures.
• Resident knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the residents and build relationships with residents.
• Security: Assist in the security of the residence halls by addressing safety and security violations directly.
• Environment: Encourage and maintain an environment and atmosphere conducive to study. Enhance the academic program by assisting with a study environment.
• Advisor and Counselor: Advise and properly direct residents both individually and in groups concerning academic, social, and personal issues.
Role Model/Student
• Academics: Maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.0 or higher (2.5 preferred) on all college work.
• Policies: Adhere to and abide by Residence Hall policies, the Gordon State College Student Code of Conduct, Guide to Highlander Living, CDC/USG pandemic guidelines and civil law.
• Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude toward the College and the Housing and Residence Life Office. Take an active, constructive role in making changes for the betterment of the Office of Housing and Residence Life and Gordon State College.

• Communication: Develop positive and productive relationships with all support/service staff and promote a high level of performance on behalf of all Housing and Residence Life staff.

Deal Operations...
• Provide analytical, written, and verbal support regarding ongoing deal activity, restructurings and negotiation to internal (senior management) and external (borrowers, lenders, consultants, counsel) stakeholders.

Provide proactive input and creative support at local events to include Military Open Houses, College/Academic Fairs, and other specialized events.
• Oversee applicable office resources and coordinate with management to request support for all IT assets and office supplies as needed. Ensure posted printed marketing materials are current and accurate and displayed attractively and in adherence to military requirements.
• Maintain a positive relationship with the Education Services Officer (ESO), Test Control Officer (TCO), Specialists/Counselors (our military partners) and various testing services. Provide academic officers with periodic briefings as allowed to update military representatives on UMGC programs of interest.
• Provide assistance to students that walk in, call, virtually, or email for admissions, registration, financial aid, student account information, National Testing Center information, and base access requests for classes.
• Track and analyze site's statistical data on testing and class enrollments to provide input on scheduling for hybrid classes and proctoring.
• Ensure the test center and hybrid classes are provided with adequate space and needed technologies for testing and class instruction. Ensure professors have base access and are briefed on UMGC base requirements in accordance with compliance on base security.
