A Bit About You
You will:
• Main objective: new business sales through agencies and client directs while maintaining and growing a handful of running accounts that are part of your custom territory/book of business
• Constantly build a pipeline of leads throughout the entire sales cycle (new business focus)

Director of Engineering, Realtime Advertising Systems
Remote (North America) | Engineering
About The Advertising Systems Team
The Advertising Serving systems group is responsible for developing and maintaining our real-time advertising serving systems including responding to bid-requests from SSPs and exchanges using Open RTB as well as delivering ads and processing event notifications from our inventory partners and rendered ad units. Our advertising platform currently receives ~700,000 transactions per second in bid volume on AWS infrastructure typically responding to external bid requests in under 30ms. This is a high-volume low-latency system and the team focuses on technical excellence in Java, Scala, and C++ using AWS infrastructure. We seek to continuously improve cost performance while bringing new features to market for our customers.
Responsibilities Of The Role
• Be technical a hands-on leader working with the teams every day
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to design systems, plan projects, and ensure quality delivery within time and budget
• Control AWS costs and proactively identify and execute system improvements to reduce spend on infrastructure while increasing scale and reliability
• Grow, develop, and lead a winning team through effective performance management, hiring, and training, including regular 1:1 meetings with all of your direct and indirect reports
• Manage performance against key metrics for the engineering department such as productivity per headcount-dollar
Required Qualifications
• Education and professional experience:
• PHD or Masters degree in STEM with 10+ years experience in technology

A bit about you
GroundTruth is forming a new infrastructure team that will empower developers to significantly increase their productivity and performance. You and your team would be the agents of change to standardize platform and processes to help developers build faster while still having sensible guardrails. Your team would be responsible for building the tooling (or buy where it makes sense), for operationally mature cloud-native dev workflows. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to: improving and standardizing CI/CD pipelines; maintaining prod, staging, QA environments; tooling for operations alerting/monitoring systems; tooling for cost and security aware dev workflows; introducing/improving distributed testing/observability paradigms like standardized distributed tracing/failure-injection/chaos-testing/regression testing; build dashboards for operational analytics; evangelizing these processes across technology teams; training and mentoring other engineering teams in these practices. In summary, you and your team enables every other team at GT to build better.
You will:
• Develop software and tools in your impact areas.
• Be a trailblazer and an evangelist for proposing dev workflow, technologies.
• Perform data-to-day troubleshooting with engineering teams in your impact areas.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with SRE and engineers on various teams.
• Practice what you preach - follow best practices to document, develop, test, deploy.
• Partner with dev leads to understand workflow automation needs and service level objectives.
• Measure impact of efforts and course correct when necessary.
• Be available for off-hours pages for support.
You have:
• 12+ years of experience in software development/IT of which 7+ years in release engineering/infrastructure/platform/SRE/DevOps-support.
• 3+ years’ experience leading or managing teams.
• 3+ years’ experience on public cloud deployments, IAAS using CloudFormation/CDK/CodeDeploy or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ experience with CI/CD for cloud, build and release tools like Maven/Make.
• Experience with Docker, container deployments strategies like blue/green, canary, or similar technologies.
• Motivation to keep yourself and your team up to date by adopting/experimenting with technology.
• Nice to have: Experience with alerting, monitoring and observability tools.
• Nice to have: Experience with distributed testing/cloud-based regression testing.
• Nice to have: Some hands-on with Kubernetes deployments.

As we continue to build out our Global People Operations team, we are looking to bring on an Executive Assistant to serve as a trusted partner to our Senior Leadership team. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of People Operations (while this may change as the team continues to expand). The role currently has the opportunity to work partially remote. You will:
EA Duties:
• Serve as the gatekeeper and support administrative needs for 4-person Senior Leadership (Executive) team by managing their calendars/schedules while coordinating and scheduling virtual and in-person meetings
• Manage, balance and coordinate extensive travel needs for the Senior Leadership team which includes both domestic and international travel
• Schedule and coordinate Board meetings
• Track, maintain and prepare Senior Leadership expense reports
• Assist with miscellaneous special projects or duties as assigned
Office Management Duties:
• Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that the Sunnyvale office is operating smoothly
• Manage office budget
• Coordinate group lunches via Grubhub

• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked office
