The Talent Acquisition Manager for External Relations (ER) is a newly established role to enable External Relations to expand our capacity to attract top talent. Job Responsibilities

This role will manage the full recruitment lifecycle on open searches for exempt and non-exempt staff roles within ER.

Basic Qualifications:

Intellectual Property, Data Privacy and Compliance
• Manage IP protection activities, serving as a liaison with the Trademark Office and OGC on patent applications, trademark registrations and copyright filings for courses and related materials. Respond to copyright infringement and other IP issues including takedown notices, issuing official warnings, and determining with OGC when to initiate legal proceedings
• Oversee updates to legal aspects of student facing policies including our terms of use, privacy policy, accommodations policies, and implementation of FERPA. Ensure policies are up-to-date and that departmental processes are aligned. Research student policy violations and accommodation issues as needed and determine next steps
• Manage permissions infrastructure (releases, etc.) and apply policy, precedent, and spirit to exception requests as needed with protagonists and companies
• Create infrastructure to support HBS Online’s stance on data privacy/security compliance (contract language, policies and related processes)
Consulting and Relationship Management
• Serve as a critical team member when new business models are explored. Identify potential ramifications to our legal infrastructure, policies and overall risk profile
• Manage HBS Online’s critical relationship with OGC. Elevate and prioritize issues for their involvement, helping to manage the department’s asks in relation to OGC’s large and demanding portfolio of work
• Manage law firm relationships in collaboration with OGC. Determine when projects are passed to external counsel based on business need and OGC availability, prioritizing the workload, reviewing the work delivered, and working with counsel to ensure HBS Online’s needs are met
• Remain abreast of regulatory and compliance issues which impact online education, with respect to both international and domestic requirements and implications for the business; communicate with leadership on areas where we need to focus attention
• In the event of litigation, support matter management and discovery by working to collect and synthesize information from the team
