Program Objectives:
Increase confidence in your ability to provide effective, high quality patient care.
Build and strengthen skills to adapt to support success working within a large scope of practice.
Provide enhanced support for new-careerists.
Encourage life-long learning and professional development.
Participants will benefit from:
12 month structured plan – including 8 week general orientation, orientation to specialty areas, procedural certifications, monthly educational programming, team check-ins with cohort, and year long mentorship.
Professional development including hands on and structured experiential learning.
Regular meetings with members of your cohort to share ideas, opportunities, & navigate new-careerist challenges.
Continuing educational programming throughout the residency program. Examples include team-building activities, charting modules, professional development topics, therapeutic principles, & advanced skills.
Skill and career growth to prepare you for promotion to Respiratory Therapist II at the end of the program.
Requirements:
Available for Full-Time and Part-Time inpatient respiratory therapy roles.
Must be a graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with less than 24 months experience as a RRT.
Must meet all requirements for NYS Respiratory Therapist licensure.

Assists in keeping department clean & orderly, as well as keeping the department stocked with supplies. Assists with stocking of respiratory equipment & supplies on the nursing units. Cleans, processes, & reassembles respiratory therapy equipment in accordance with hospital policies and manufacturer’s instructions for use. Assists with the inventory & stocking of medical gas cylinders. Assists with the inventory & stocking of emergency equipment carts and trays. Demonstrates aseptic technique in all aspects of job duties. Assists with maintenance of equipment and prevention of waste. Contacts Clinical Engineering &/or Respiratory Therapist for assistance where appropriate. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, empathy, and excellent customer service skills. Ensures ongoing personal growth and development. Performs other non-clinical duties as assigned. Follows all applicable safety steps required to perform their duties to ensure safety for themselves and others as well as compliance with hospital, state, and federal safety standards.
Education Requirements: Minimum of a two-year associate degree in respiratory therapy; bachelor's degree.
Experience Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program & registered by the NBRC. Required to obtain NYS Respiratory Therapist licensure by the first 90 days of employment.
Pay Range: Flat Rate $25/hr.
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the New York State Dept. of Education.
• Registered by the NBRC. New graduates may work under a limited NYS permit, but they are required to pass the NBRC registry exam within the time indicated on the limited permit.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS/NRP recommended.
Pay Range: $33.00/hr. - $45.70/hr.
