We are seeking a highly motivated assistant editor to join the newsroom that would be responsible for helping plan the contents of the publication, help supervise the work of the editorial department and oversee the publication production, as well as produce original content for the publication's print and digital products.
As an Assistant Editor for the newspaper, you can expect the following:
• Prepare, rewrite, and edit copy to improve readability.
• Create digital and print content considering the reader of audience appeal.
• Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
• Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
• Review and approve proofs submitted by reporters prior to publication production.
• Assist editor with supervision and coordination work of the editorial department
• Work with the Audience Development team to create digital content based on audience data.

• Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

The Operations Technician maintains the technical integrity of the station's on-air systems and its equipment from acquisition to distribution. The Operations Technician will be responsible for communicating effectively with the Engineering team. Production Control Room... Automation and Master Control Operators would be an example. This position supports all station efforts in-house and on remote location. Job Responsibilities: Maintaining on air operations to include running commercials, network, and local programming.Working knowledge of master control and production control room automation systems. Follow FCC monitoring and EAS procedures.Coordinate ENG Microwave activity. Including Helicopter and Live truck reception. Work with all field units coordinating cellular TVU live shots. Ingesting and prepping content for on air playback. Work as needed with station engineering assisting with facilities projects and upkeep of the technical plant. Basic multi-media computer skills and familiarity with current Internet technology Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering. In-person attendance is required. Experience Requirements: Should have 1+ years of experience working as an Operations Technician or Engineer at a commercial television station with extensive experience in operating a wide variety of broadcast equipmentHearst Television is a proud supporter of military veterans.
