Essential Responsibilities

• Provide full analytical support of new and existing debt investments, which includes due diligence, financial modeling, KPI analysis, and data collection ensuring the accuracy and validity of supplied information.

• Analyze companies' financial performance and industry positioning, including comparative commercial and operational performance, competitive differentiation, and market sizing.

• Evaluate company productivity, efficiency and profitability while developing a qualitative understanding of the business model nuances that drive enterprise value.

• Create memos and models summarizing analysis for investment committee and credit committee.

• Assist with researching the Technology and SaaS sectors as well as its subsectors; proactively communicate to management important events and/or possible business leads that may impact or generate deals.

• Help maintain the internal investment database to ensure accurate and timely contact/company information.

• Provide additional analysis support as requested by management.

• Other duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance & Accounting/Business/Economics, Engineering/Math/Computer Science or a related field.

• Minimum of one - three years of related experience in a lending, financial, banking, or consulting environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• Proven analytical, presentation and project skills are critical.

• Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling multiple projects at any given time.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial statements is essential, including allocation of overhead expenses. In addition, comprehensive understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred.

The Portfolio Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination and facilitation of portfolio operations over the entire lifecycle of assigned portfolio investments. The individual will interface with external vendors and our internal partners across Accounting, Legal, Deal Teams & Treasury functions to ensure each stage of the investment lifecycle is efficiently and excellently executed. The role will involve a deep understanding of Hercules' investment and business operations. The individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and a sense of urgency. Essential Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio operations process for assigned deals for the life of assigned portfolio companies, from receipt of a signed term sheet through funding and eventual payoff of the loan(s) or other disposition of the investment.

• Create internal communication channel for members of the deal team across business for each new portfolio investment.

• Review and approve pre-funding documentation for completeness and accuracy, inclusive of investment approval, investment documentation, and funding request and wire information.

• Manage receipt and tracking of collateral, including warrants, stock, future equity rights, and UCCs.

• Administer and manage post-closing deliverables and follow-up with deal team and outside counsel accordingly.

• Review of ACH and Wire Reconciliation processes performed by Ops team members.

• Calculate payoffs and create payoff letters using approved templates.

• Upon payoff of a loan, work with custodian to retrieve and deliver collateral documents to appropriate parties.

• Ensure all investment and funding documents are collected and stored appropriately.

• Draft and manage post-closing Assignment documents including funds flow for fee splits.

• Manage execution and support portfolio related data maintenance and strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (in a business, accounting, or finance concentration preferred) or work experience equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with portfolio operations, loan closing, loan and/or treasury operations

• Expertise in end-to-end investment process; including deal lifecycle, and closing and funding requirements, and post-closing activities.

• Familiarity with warrants and equity administration required.

• Must be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills.
