Host Merchant Services is looking for fun and ambitious people to join our growing sales team located in Newark, DE. The position is for a Sales Representative at an emerging payment processing and small business solutions company. This is a full-time position during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
Although we are primarily a merchant services provider, we are starting to expand our... services by using technology to solve a variety of issues for our customers. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get involved in our unique and expanding company, apply today!
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility is to convert leads into customers. Leads will be made available to you through several sources and will vary in their difficulty to close. Some leads will be easy, but most will require you to be persistent and tenacious in order to close them. Understanding the time-sensitive nature of reaching out to new leads is a must. The most critical aspect of your job is to ensure that when a new lead comes in it is worked on aggressively and immediately. Follow-up is also a large part of this role. We have a basic sales framework and some CRM automation to help you maintain your pipeline, but being well organized and diligent about following up with every lead will be fundamental in your success here.
Occasionally, you will be asked to do some in-person canvassing to complement our local marketing campaigns. The goal is the same, to convert leads into customers. Expect to spend a portion of your time each week targeting specific businesses in the area. These leads will also be provided for you and will have already had some contact from our marketing department. In some cases you will be going to preset appointments, other times will involve going door-to-door unscheduled.
Knowledge of the credit card industry and merchant services is helpful but not required as we are always willing to teach those who are eager to learn. Having an understanding of prospect needs and how that translates into our product set is important and we will ensure you are given the tools and information you need for that. Product training will be delivered when you start, so all we really need is someone with a passion for closing.
Some example tasks:
• Respond to incoming leads via phone and email in an aggressive and time sensitive manner
• Follow-up with existing leads in an attempt to move them forward in the sales cycle
• Answer inbound sales calls
• Keep your sales pipeline organized and be able to report on it in a daily meeting
• Maintain detailed notes about leads in a CRM system
• Be available for conference calls with telesales leads when necessary
• Do some occasional local canvassing
Qualifications:
• Sales experience, ideally in a closing role
• Strong phone sales skills and a strong customer service philosophy a must
• Persistent and relentless attitude toward lead follow-up
• Dependable, self-motivated, and punctual
• Knowledge of the merchant services industry or willingness to learn
• Part experience working with a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) is a plus
Work Environment:
Host Merchant Services is a small business with a lot of growth potential. The office atmosphere is casual and relaxed, but we take our jobs and obligation to the customer seriously. If you want out of the corporate world and want to join a fun and energetic company then this is a great place to check out.
