Being a part of our Hot Air Balloon Chase Crew Team is an incredible experience that will put you in the center of the ballooning... action.
Your day starts early in the morning or early afternoon hours and the entire experience lasts about 3-4 hours. Losing something as large and colorful as a hot air balloon sounds impossible, but it can happen. For this reason, the chase crew has a very important job that consists of navigating the roads while using radios to communicate with the pilot and keep the balloon in sight. The Chase Crew often helps identify potential landing spots for the pilot. Once the balloon lands, the Chase Crew has several duties including help make sure there are no sharp objects around the balloon, hold the balloon basket down, and help deflate and pack up the balloon.
When a pilot was asked about the chase crew experience he said, "The thrill of the chase can be more fun than flying. It is amazing to see the fabric come out of the bag, inflate into a huge balloon and take off into flight. Being part of the entire experience from start to finish is a great feeling."
When the balloon has landed and everything is packed away, you will have had a new adventure.
If this sounds like the perfect part-time, on call job for you, keep reading for information and requirements.
