Our summer... season is from mid May till late October. We also have a wilderness hunting camp that’s operated from mid September to end of October. During summer months we operate a riding stable and take between 80-120 each day. Rides start at 9:00 am and are spaced out every half hour till last ride of the day at 4:00. You would be expected to saddle horses in morning and guide on average of 1-3 rides per day. You must be able and most importantly willing to saddle horses each day. Our rides are one and two hours long. All trail rides are done at Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Wyoming. Average day is at stables around 7:30 in morning and done leaving around 5:30-6:00 at night. Unless, it’s a day we have wagon rides. Then expect to be there till 6:30-7:00. We feed horses free choice hay. Bales weigh 950 pounds they are put out with skid loader. We have around 100 horses at stables. We own over 200.

We like to have between 8-10 Wrangler’s each day. Each horse has its own gear so no adjustments to fit each day. You will be expected to bring your own saddle and snaffle headstall. If you do not you can rent one from us. Cost is $400 for season. Our dress code is long sleeve western button up shirt, cowboy hat and western boots. We recommend a raincoat and chaps or chinks. We also operate a stagecoach ride each day from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm 7 days a week. You will be at stagecoach one or two days a week driving and taking tickets. We have a chuck wagon dinner ride two nights a week. You will be expected to drive wagons for the twenty minute ride on those nights. We will take wranglers into our wilderness camp to pack elk out to game processor and help in camp. We try to hire one or two wranglers who can guide rides in summer and cook or wrangle in the camp during the fall.

We have been in business in Jackson Hole since 1992 doing rides. We are family owned and operated. One of the three brothers are at stables each day. We provide housing and pay $1,000.00 per month in a salary. As a bonus at end of season you will get $2.00 per person you guide. Last year we had 5 Wranglers get over $1,200.00 each in a bonus. You get tips on each ride. It’s not uncommon to get a $100.00 bill for a one hour ride. We are fortunate to be involved with 4 and 5 star hotels. We have had Wranglers average over $150.00 a day in tips.

If you do not have horse experience do not apply for this job. If your not comfortable speaking in public do not apply. If you plan on being a participant in a rodeo no matter the event do not apply. If you smoke, vape, have a dog or are dependent on alcohol or drugs you need not apply. If your sick a lot this is not for you. Must have your own transportation. Planning on a family reunion or wedding over the summer do not apply. Its a short season and we need people that can be dependable and show up 6 days a week. If you cannot stay length of your contract do not apply. Please attach a current pic of yourself with resume. We annually get between 100-130 applicants. We do our hiring in stages. Expect to hear from us within 3 days of applying. Thanks for considering us. Castagno Outfitters
