The Role

HuffPost is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable and creative audience editor to help cultivate the largest, most engaged and diverse audience on the internet. This editor will assist the newsroom Sunday to Thursday, 4PM-12AM ET. This is a six-month fixed term position.

You Will

You’ll be well-versed in optimizing content for search and social platforms, and packaging and distributing content across social channels. You’ll have good editorial judgment across a broad range of content, and be a creative, collaborative colleague. You will have experience with common newsroom analytics platforms and will be comfortable discussing data insights with colleagues who may be unfamiliar with analytics. This editor will work closely with the HuffPost Life team, so an understanding of and appreciation for lifestyle coverage is a plus.

You will thrive on working collaboratively with the rest of the audience team, as well as writers and editors across HuffPost. You will participate in audience team activities – from engagement projects (callouts, UGC, AMAs, and beyond) to video ideation and distribution, assisting with tentpole coverage, and community activities – to encourage an engaged, diverse readership and viewership. You will communicate proactively and thoughtfully with your colleagues, focusing on delivering audience insights to a newsroom hungry to learn more about our readers and viewers.

You Have

You show eagerness to collaborate with colleagues, learn new skills, and experiment with different approaches to distribution.

The Role

HuffPost seeks a dynamic, experienced editor to lead HuffPost’s political reporting. Millions of readers trust HuffPost for around-the-clock political news, and the senior politics editor is expected to drive fast-paced, agenda-setting coverage. This editor must have a demonstrated record of inspiring and improving the work of their reporters, an ability to generate scoops and a keen awareness of how to serve HuffPost’s large and growing audience.

Standout political coverage has been a top priority at HuffPost since its founding nearly 20 years ago; this position is critical to HuffPost's mission. We are looking for a candidate who can energize our newsroom and take our political reporting to new heights.

You Will
• Manage and edit a talented team of ~10 reporters and work with them on selecting story angles, establishing coverage priorities and fine-tuning pieces.
