ICIJ is looking to... hire a journalist who will help us get those stories out to the world in a variety of storytelling and multimedia formats, through our website, email and social media platforms. This position reports to the Online Editor.

We’re looking for a journalist:
• with excellent news judgment and newsroom experience, preferably in audience-focused digital production (working on a news website and/or social media team);

The right candidate will be an internal thought leader on email strategy, has experience running email campaigns using ActiveCampaign, is data-obsessed and comfortable identifying and presenting insights to constantly improve our annual giving program.
The Annual Campaign Manager will focus on strategically expanding the organization's annual and recurring gift revenue with a goal of significantly increasing the base of annual giving support.
Essential job responsibilities:
Work closely with the Chief Development Officer to establish goals, benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure the results of all annual campaign activities.
Develop consistent messaging to donors and prospects that align with solicitation and donor stewardship communications.
Identify new annual gift and recurring gift prospects and build strategies for cultivating annual donors to give at higher levels.
Responsible for ICIJ's annual giving program, including developing strategy and implementing targeted email campaigns using ActiveCampaign to drive growth in annual giving.
Craft donor journeys and execute sub-campaigns (i.e. lapsed donors, one-time donors, recurring donors, etc.) to be integrated within the larger annual campaign.
Improve the donor journey from point of acquisition to conversion and monetization.
Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to evaluate campaign performance and make adjustments as needed.
Write persuasive copy for email appeals, social media posts and other fundraising materials.
Develop and maintain our internal Annual Campaign Calendar.
Maintain and update donor contact records to ensure accurate record-keeping, segmentation and reporting in ActiveCampaign and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT.
Participate in events for the purposes of acquisition, cultivation and stewardship for the annual giving program.
Demonstrate both internally and externally a culture of philanthropy.
Prepare activity/programming reports for executive staff and the board, as needed.

Education/certifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field required.
